I would leave a zero star if that was available. DO NOT USE Service Star Heating&Cooling. They lure you in with $49.99 maintenance special then do not even fulfill that special which included up to 1 lb refrigerant 410A which I was not given. I have called 3 times in the past 30 days to get them to come out and put in the refrigerant and they never pick up the phone. Can only leave a voicemail and then they don't return calls to customers whom have left them a voicemail. Last call I made, I gave them 48 hours to respond to my voicemail and informed them that if I did not hear back from them in 48 hours I would be posting a negative review on google, yelp, and next door. They did not respond. There are plenty of other heating and cooling companies out there so use them instead of Service Star. Oh, and by the way, when I called to set up my appointment they were Service Star but when I called after not receiving the refrigerant, their recorded message says Air Force One H&C???

Brandon was the service person who came to my home to do a 24 point Preventive Maintenance Service on my AC and Heater units. He was very polite and informative. I asked him many questions and he did not hesitate to answer anything I asked him. He was very professional and completed the job within 30 minutes. I will be calling Service Star from now on for all my service needs.

A/C Unit equipment and install was very good, BUT... the experience with the office was horrible. Many, numerous requests for proper paperwork in order to complete mandatory state inspection were incorrect, inadequate and ignored. This company has cost me unlimited hours of frustration and effort. Office manager refused proper customer service and refused my repeated demands for communication with Service Star administration. It is over four months since the installation and job permit still open, and no call back from Service Star staff or management. Recommendation: Do not pay the company until the job inspection is completed.

In the future, I would not pay for this kind of job. It was a vent straight out about 2 feet and certainly not worth paying for!

A/C Technician lacked the knowledge to repair and diagnose my system and tried to sell me on $1600 in unnecessary repairs and equipment. Had called them to perform dryer vent cleaning and saw they did a/c work as well. Dryer vent cleaning was barely adequate for the price. On the A/C side, my Nest thermostats stopped working and the a/c would no longer come on. Since they were coming out to do the dryer vent cleaning I asked the company to send an a/c tech as well to look at my system. All he did was check the voltage at the unit in the garage and said I was getting the right voltage and then proceeded to tell me how my Nest thermostats were not compatible with a zone system like I have. He then looked at my smart panel and said he didn't know much about them but said I would need a new control panel board and would have to replace my Nest with regular thermostats. Cost $1,600.00. He even made a call to another Tech who confirmed that is what the problem was and the charge would be. Called another company and spoke with a person who knew exactly what the issue could be (he was not thinkng a new contol zone board or thermostats, though he said it was something that affected the power to the control board), he said it could even be a clogged drain line but he would have to check it out to see. The new technician I called came out and troubleshoot the system all the way back to the float valve which had stopped working due to excess water in the line. As soon as he drained the water and re-did the plumbing, the power was restored to the contol panel. A very simple fix. Cost: $90.00. Bottom line, this company Service Star, was willing to charge me $1,600 for a new zone panel board and 3 new thermostats that I did not need. This was basic troubleshooting that they failed to do to resolve the issue. Better to pay $90.00 than $1600.00. I would not recommend this company except maybe for dryer vent cleaning and even then I'm not really sure.

Technician was very friendly and personable. Hired to have dryer vent cleaned and got a lot of lint out. Did try to sell other services but was not high pressure.

Paul spent approximately 15 minutes at the outside unit. Told me he didn't think the unit was worth fixing and gave me a quote of $6k to replace. I got another tech to come out from another company he repaired the unit and is running fine. This tech said the unit is old and should be replaced in the near future and gave me a $4420 quote.

I had a great experience with this company. They called me right away, and Jeff came out to repair my a/c unit that very same day. He was awesome. He fixed and replaced everything right then and there, and even patched a bunch of leaks in the system for me. The price was very reasonable, and the service was fast and friendly. I would definitely recommend!

The experience With the company as a whole was great! From the moment I received the call back I felt like they were there to be professionals. They didn’t just get someone out to me the same day but instead had one of the greatest technicians in biz be there in under two hours. Jeff was straight up and direct to the pint from the second he parked, he came in did troubleshooting and opened up the whole unit to inspect from Top to bottom. I’m definitely hiring them to do what needs to be done and I doubt I’ll have to call them back after that.

Being very uninformed about A.C., I really can't say if my purchase of a new A.C. was a good deal or not. Things were pretty rushed, and the duct cleaner was there at the same time as the maintenance tech selling me the new A.C. on the surface, it all seems fine. I do wish I had known how long it would take for installation. It began around 3 and didn't end until 8PM. I didn't get really good instruction on how the thermostat works, but was able to figure it out with the instruction book.

It was repaired quickly and has worked well for the 2 months since the installation of the new system. I can not yet tell if the new system is more efficient, ie less costly. I will be monitoring it. UPDATE: When the season changed from AC to heating, heat would not work properly. The heat when on but would not shut off, took 4 calls requesting service. I did not have working heat for 2 weeks.
