Foundation Drainage Installation and Replacement
Ray and his hardworking crew completed the installation of interior french drains and the excavation of concrete and stone in a remarkably short amount of time. They moved items from the basement walls and returned them when finished. They were polite, courteous, punctual and were fastidious about clean-up.

I can't say enough about Ray & his crew. They found out where the water was coming into the basement and fixed not only the outside, but the inside as well. You are always kept abreast of the progress of the job, and pricing is very reasonable.

I hired Set IN STONE two years ago to replace our deteriorated curved front steps, no easy feat. Ray did a perfect job in reproducing the curvature of the steps, and to this day I get complements on the beautiful steps. Just this spring I hired Ray to restore two crumbling driveways at another location. Not only did he do an excellent job , but he went above and beyond what was required in the contract. I recommend Ray for all your masonry and carpentry needs.

Ray and his crew did what they said they would do in a timely and professional manner. They jacked up my house,installed supports,rebuilt the back foundation and replaced an ugly concrete slab with a beautiful stamped concrete terrace. CanâÂÂt recommend them highly enough! They are the best

Set In Stone did a complete project for me 12 years ago. I needed a place for my band to practice and hired them to design and build a music room on my property as well as install a pool deck. From the start of the planning stages, Ray and his crew were fanatical about doing the project correctly. From setting grades, entire foundation work, stamped concrete wooden plank floor, and stamped cobblestone pool deck...everything was done to the highest standards! After 12 years, no cracking and it looks as good as the day they finished! They recently came back to reseal the concrete and I was glad to see that the work ethic of Ray and his employees remains unchanged, they do what they say! I wanted to leave this review because I know how hard it is to find companies that ar committed to total customer satisfaction and it is important to let everyone know that this is what they will get when they hire Set In Stone.

I am angry. I spent 70K for a basement and stone work and asked if there was a guarantee for a small leak to the stone work for a chimney. Ray said yes- it was guaranteed. Any one who wants to know about this company should call me. 617 5109370. Yes- the work is good. No, Ray says one thing but does not follow through. Amazingly frustrating. What really gets me is that he used my name to give him a 5 star rating for his other company Ray's Carpentry and Home Improvement. I did not put that rating in.

"WE DO NOT GUARANTEE WORK WE DID NOT DO! (consumer name withheld per their request) statements are false and without merit. In 2015 (consumer name withheld per their request) hired Set in Stone to install a brand-new chimney. (consumer name withheld per their request) asked for an estimate to refurbish his current chimney to match the one we were hired to build for him. After inspecting it, I found that the flashing on the existing chimney was 50 + years old and was in failure mode, which could eventually cause leakage. I strongly recommended to (consumer name withheld per their request) that he have Set in Stone replace the flashing to the existing chimney, but he informed me that he did not want to pay the full cost of that repair. To save himself money, he asked that Set in Stone install a stone veneer over the existing chimney to match the new chimney that Set in Stone built. At (consumer name withheld per their request) ?s request and against my recommendation, Set in Stone only installed the veneer on ?the existing chimney?. The brand-new chimney Set in Stone built was A+ quality. Following the installation of (consumer name withheld per their request) new chimney, he wrote a 5-star review on ?Home Advisor? for the entire job, which was over $70,000, claiming an outstanding job was done by Set in Stone/Ray?s Carpentry. Now that the 50 + year old flashing is leaking on (consumer name withheld per their request) existing chimney (as I told him would happen), and he failed to heed my strong recommendation of replacing the 50 + year old flashing, (consumer name withheld per their request) is now is trying to extort me into repairing the flashing for free and damage the A+ reputation of Set in Stone/Ray?s Carpentry by leaving bad reviews. I take pride in perfection as do my tradesmen. Please review my outstanding ratings on Home Advisor from numerous satisfied customers and feel free to call me if you have any questions about (consumer name withheld per their request) fabrication. We hired Set In Stone to install a stamped concrete patio (blue stone color and pattern) and construct a fence modeled after fences we had seen on Main Street in Essex, CT. Ray takes a lot of pride in his work and his team did a great job. The fence and patio are very attractive. I would recommend Set In Stone to anyone.

Within a day of requesting an estimate through the Set in Stone website, I received a call from Ray to schedule an appointment. Ray came to my house right on time, explained in detail what his team would do to prep and complete the job, and presented a very reasonable quote. Between signing the paperwork and the stamped concrete walkway being poured, Ray checked in with me more than once to explain the tasks at hand, and even brought me to a nearby neighborhood to show me a similar job he had already completed for comparison. The Set in Stone team showed up exactly when expected, and like Ray, were all very personable. The neighbors commented on how hard they all worked, and the quality of the work was outstanding. At all stages of the project, the team checked in with me to ensure that I liked how things were coming along. When the project was completed, the team left the yard looking like they had not even been there - not a single piece of trash or yard waste was in sight. Ray checked in to tell me how to care for the new stamped concrete walkway and to make sure I liked the end result. The new walkway looks beautiful, and we are absolutely thrilled with the outcome. We will definitely use Set in Stone again in the future!
