"Brian - we are very sorry you feel this way. Our technician did not have time to create a proper estimate and gave you a best guess. I understand that when you are standing in a couple of inches of water you want an answer right away, but I promise this will never happen again. Some context... Our initial meeting was scheduled for 9 am but you postponed it until 10 am. We spent almost an hour taking photos, notes, and measurements to be entered into the estimating software for your insurance provider. The technician had a noon appointment and he told you to expect an estimate later in the afternoon. During the noon appointment you called asking for a price. We told you it was not our normal practice to give a quote before creating a proper estimate, but our technician did tell you it could be in the three to four thousand dollar range. You said you understood that it was just a ballpark and specifically said you would not hold us to it. We did stress that we would do the job for the amount your insurance company approved and your only out of pocket would be your deductible. Before we started the project you signed an Authorization to Perform Emergency Services agreement stating we would do the work for the amount your insurance provider accepted. We worked all evening removing flooring and various items from your basement to extract the water. I appreciate you saying the job was done professionally, we pride ourselves not only in our work but our ability to serve the homeowner at all hours in times of emergency. The very next morning an estimate was emailed it to you and you were contacted by phone to go over the charges. We explained that it initially came to over $5,000, mostly due to the after hours charges of having a crew there during the evening. We voluntarily removed all of these charges to get down into the four thousand dollar range in an attempt to make you happy. In reality, we could have charged more for the work performed and your insurance provider would have approved our invoice. We use the same estimating software as the insurance companies (which is why our price was the same as our competitor's) and each item was reasonable and legitimate. We reduced your final invoice for you in an effort to keep you within the quoted amount and under your coverage limit. As far as payment options go, we take cash, check, credit cards, and offer 12 months no interest financing. You specifically asked to pay by credit card and were told that there was a 3% fee associated with that type of payment. Unfortunately, as a small business we are charged by the credit card processors and don't have a choice. However, we did tell you there was no rush and that we would wait for your insurance company to reimburse you for you loss so you could send us a check. Which brings us to the last point... It has been over 30 days since we started the project and we have not received any form of payment from you after sending multiple inv"
