Very disappointed in the final work and communication from Shane. They had given me a quote to replace an exterior door from a botched job. The quote was for a door that had a PVC brick mold and from their door vendor, that was not from a well-known home improvement store, because they said they had poor doors. When they did come to replace the door, they came with a door from one of the stores they said they would not get this from that had a wood brick mold and installed it. When I got there to inspect it when it was done, I asked about the brick mold and they said it was PVC. After I used my fingernail to scratch it and showed them that it was wood, they looked confused like they were not able to tell it was wood when they had screwed the screws into it. At this point, they are going to go buy a brick mold to replace it. Which means that they have to remove the perfectly sealed brick mold off to replace it and hope they can seal it as well as it was. But first, they need payment before they can do this. This is when they say they are not taking credit cards at this time. And when I had got the quote, I was told they did. This caused another problem. So they get the brick mold and replace it. Within a few days, I see where it is separating and water has gotten tot he door jam and I see water stains coming from the inside out. I called them back for them to repair this correctly. Took them nearly a month to come back to attempt to fix it. And then they put some flashing on the top that does not even come out to cover the whole side or the top of the brick mold. Which is not the correct way to fix it. They put a nail into the house to hold the brick mold in place and gunked some caulk on all the cracks of the new brick mold. Then they swiped some paint erratically onto it to cover some of the water stains from the leaking. When I called them on the horrible way they have fixed the problem of them installing the wrong door on my house, they have said repeatedly they were coming out to fix it. And every time, they have not shown up since July 14th. Now they are ignoring me completely. This is a brand new door installation and it won't pass a home inspection to sell my house. I am going to have to hire someone else to come and repair it because they have not stood behind their work. Plus they charged me the higher price even after they put in a cheaper door. They have very poor communication skills.

These guys are amazing people that do what say will do and do it right. I was messed over by a previous contractor and they came in and fixed the other guys work like it should have been done. I would use them again and have plans too do that very soon on other things I need done. You will be very pleased with their work and you will be proud of what they do for you for years to come.

I contacted Shane to get a second estimate, because I was not happy with another company's estimate. He understands customer service, and ensured his estimate was very detailed, and easy to understand what would be done. I will be recommending Shane to all of my friends and family for any type of work. Thanks Shane for all you've done.

Shane and Chris did a very professional job at a reasonable cost. Shane kept me informed of the progress of the door shop that was making an exterior door. Shane and his Dad (Chris) came over just to provide us with a free Estimate for installing our new door - However, after seeing the current doors condition, and learning the new door has been here for a few months - As well as thinking it would only take a couple hours, they told us the cost to do it, and did it on the spot - Sadly, it took 4 hours and an unexpected trip to our local Home Depot - Done. They were as Awesome as they could be - Even when they realized it was going to take longer and they live a long way from us - They stayed, did it right and did not cut corners to "Get it done quicker". Now the old (Original) door was not installed correctly - go figure - Egh Builders I swear - Anyway, this time Shane and Chris did it right and then some. Very Pleased learned they do other things that we have on our "To-Do List" - Guess who we are going to call when we are ready to do those jobs. Thanks Shane, Chris, You Guys Rock. and for Home Advisor, you are 2 for 2 in providing us with top notch people - I am loving this service.

I am very happy with Shane Smith Home Services. I had them prep and stain my deck and they did an excellent job. They also finished off the edge of my deck where I had had a portion of the deck removed. You would never know that deck had ever been larger. It was great working with them and I will use them for future projects. Couldn't be happier.

Shane and his team completed our privacy fence in a timely manner and communicated the steps of the project the whole way. Would recommend them to anyone planning a project for the home.

Sure glad to find these guys. They were super nice and did a great job installing new drywall and moulding in our basement. I opted to paint myself this time but wished I had remembered to have them install shoe moulding as well by the tile floors. We will certainly call them again.

Hired them to repair textured ceiling and loose taping in several rooms. Did an excellent job. Will hire again.

They hung and finished sheet rock in a bath room remodel. Did a TERRIBLE job. I had to do a lot of rework to fix their mistakes. Left several unfinished gaps in the sheet rock (including a 1/2 inch gap at an electrical box that remained visible after putting cover plate on) that were clearly visible and I had to repair. Did not clean up after finishing, left gobs of dried drywall mud in shower pan and on floor, did not remove sanding dust, did not take away excess materials). When bidding the job, attempted to up sell un-needed services.

These guys worked extra hours to complete a job that turned out to be bigger than they anticipated. They never asked me for more money. That's rare these days.

Did a great job reinforcing deck so we hired them again to replace windows and resurface wood floors. Great work and very detailed. They came back a few times to and a little extra Polly to make some spots even better. Good team.
