Shepherd Enterprises

We hired Shepherd Enterprises for most of a full house remodel. The bid was broken down so I knew exactly what work was being done and how much it cost. They started and finished on time and did what they said they would do, plus some. I would highly recommend them!

I was put in contact with Shepherd Enterprises through the short-lived Home Advisor Premium service. A gentleman came out to my home, looked at the work I wanted done, and soon after I received an estimate. Although Shepherd Enterprises was the only company to contact me, and I thought the estimate was too high,I went ahead and signed a contract with them because I was ready to get this work done right away, and I saw nothing but glowing reviews on the Home Advisor website. I signed a contract at the end of July for work to begin August 10 and be completed August 17. On August 9 I called their office. I hadn't heard from them since July when they received the signed contract and my payment of half. The young lady in the office assured me they would be there the next morning, and what time. Either the first or second day I got a call from my father. The worker had completed removing the old boards from my deck earlier in the day, and had now been waiting for hours for the foreman to bring him new boards so he could begin rebuilding my deck. I called the office to try to find out the reason for the delay. I got no good explanation. The deck and other work I was having done was mostly completed within the contracted time. I was assured someone would be coming back the following week to stain my deck. Toward the end of August I called the office. No one answered, so I left a message requesting that they call me and let me know when they would be coming back to complete the work I had contracted with them to do. No one called me back. No one emailed me. No one contacted me, at all. On SEPTEMBER 6 I received an email from Shepherd Enterprises. It was a request for the balance of their payment, with an invoice attached. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I immediately looked out my patio doors to see that they had, indeed, FINALLY stained my deck. A few days later, after collecting my thoughts, I called the office and requested an explanation as to why they had not returned my call, and why the work had taken so long to complete. That call did not go well. Neither did the phone conversation I had immediately afterwards with one of the owners. I will never use this company again, and cannot recommend them because of my experience with them. I'm not happy about that. I have other work I need done on my home, and was hoping I had found a company that I could trust to complete these other projects. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

Install date was a little behind original date but that was probably my own fault as I have a terrible habit of project creep which just kept adding on to the job. Customer service was great and it was a very easy company to work with. Thanks!!

Great looking deck after their work!

Thanks to Randy and Jackie and the whole crew, they did a great job on our deck. And when they removed the window and regular walk thru door and installing the French Door and matched the paint and trim. It looked like it had always been there, great job and Thanks William

Provided superior service at a reasonable price. Would recommend them to anyone that needs a good solid contractor that can deliver as promised.

the attention to detail with this company was fantastic! we have an old house and any project we have done has uncovered a little bit of chaos. thanks to these guys this was by far the smoothest project we have done! thanks soooo much!
