I contacted Steve to move a treadmill upstairs, he showed up the same day, was very professional and reasonably priced. He is a very nice guy, I will use him in the future!

Steve showed up when he promised, was clear about what he could do, and did the job promptly and at a reasonable cost. I will definitely hire his company again.

He came out to give me an estimate first. He quoted me the following: $105./hour for the first hour, because of the "Home Advisor" thing. then 75./hour after that. When I raised my eyebrows, he said, "well that is for two people, because I have a guy working for me". So, I decided to schedule it. When he came, he was alone because his "other guy" couldn't make it, so that also meant he couldn't do all the things on the list. Apparently, there were things he was not capable of doing, and needed the other guy to do. What he did for me: a ceiling drywall repair job in the garage, changing a door handle, changing an exterior light fixture. I had purchased the door handle, new light and materials for the drywall work. I saw he used his own mud, instead of what I bought, but that was all I saw him use of his own materials. He also left a huge mess from cutting the drywall and mud all over the floor of the garage. When he was done, he wrote up his receipt. He mention charging 80.00/hour, as he was doing it. I said "What? For one person?" He said, "No, it's the same price whether it is one or two" I told him that is not how I understood it. He finished the receipt and gave me the total. Because I errored, in not getting a written estimate from him first, I went ahead and cut a check for the total. After he left, I was looking at the receipt. Saw he had actually charged me 85.00/hour for the non "Home Advisor" hours. Plus he charged me 25.00 for materials (I provided all the materials). And he wrote that charge in there three different times. When I did the math on the receipt, I couldn't get anything to match. I messaged him and he offered to give me a refund of 25.00., on a 362. bill, that should have been far less. I declined, because, as I said, I should have gotten a full, written estimate, before hiring him. I was also getting ready to travel and had a lot going on. I know now, I should have stood my ground and refused to pay the full amount he was charging. Thing is, I'm an older lady, a widow and it is so hard to find a handyman that is reliable and reasonable. I was hoping going through Home Advisor might help. Obviously not. I still got scammed. I do know that I won't use Home Advisor again, either, since apparently I have to pay that expense, too, of whatever contractor I hire.

I needed a plumber today and no one else could come. Steve was able to and showed up in a timely manner. He diagnosed problem and explained what was needed to take care of problem.

He knew what he was doing, and completed the job in a professional manner.
