Shiv Contracting Inc

This is a review of Shiv Contracting Inc, and the following is our opinion of the disappointing experience we had with this company. We met Shiv through. He stated that he had tremendous experience in designing and renovating not only homes but also buildings. He showed us photos of rooms that he had worked on, and we were impressed with what we saw. On May 29th, 2022 we signed a contract with Shiv Contracting Inc. where Shiv agreed to furnish all the materials and labor to complete the job. There will be a six-month warranty upon completion of the job if anything needs repairing, they will take care of it. The job was to renovate the master bathroom and a powder room (½ bath). It also included renovating the master bedroom with an emphasis on redoing the ceiling which had water damage. The job was a timely process; it took them a little over three months to complete the job. The workmen would sometimes work a full day but most of the time they worked a half day. We are not knowledgeable about home repair/renovations so the work to us looked good. On July 11th, 2022 we entered into another contract with Shiv Contracting Inc to renovate our jacuzzi bathroom. In the contract Shiv agreed to purchase all the bathroom materials and supplies except for the shower tub, the frameless shower door, and the faucets. During the process of completing the job, he requested that we purchase the floor drain, the paint, and the hardware for the bathroom vanity. Later, we noticed that he installed a shower door for the master bathroom that was so flimsy that we requested its removal and immediately hired a shower door company to come in and install a better-quality door. We were also able to have them return two tiny inferior-looking toilet bowls before they were installed. We became deeply concerned about the quality of his work when a workman for the shower door company stopped by to measure for the shower door in the jacuzzi bathroom. He asked us why the heating apparatus was installed above ground next to the bathtub. He further stated that leaving it above ground will result in it needing to be replaced within a year. Shiv was not pleased when we relayed our concern, but we insisted that it be placed underground as the worker had advised. The work was completed on September 2nd, 2022, and we paid him his final payment. A short time after we had water coming down into our kitchen from the ceiling. We also had cracks in the walls and ceiling of the master bedroom and an electrical outlet in the jacuzzi bathroom was not working. We contacted him about those issues; however, he was out of the country. A few days later he called and came by to do the repairs. After fixing the leak he accused us of owing him four hundred dollars for the vanity he had purchased for the jacuzzi bathroom. He stormed out of our home after we told him we did not recall any such conversation since it was not on the contract, and he was responsible for purchasing the vanity. He did not wait to even hear about the additional repairs needed on the work he had done. Later, we texted him about additional repairs that are needed and sent him several pictures of the cracks on the wall and the ceiling. We reminded him that our contract had a six-month warranty and we expected him to adhere to the contract. Despite several calls and text messages sent to him we have not heard a word back from Shiv Contracting Inc. It is disappointing to know that we entered into a contract with Shiv Contracting Inc, a business recommended by to renovate our home and we ended up in this situation. He gave us a false sense of security by signing a contract with a warranty and in the end, he did not comply with it. We can say that we are completely unsatisfied with the quality of their work and will never hire them for any other job in our home nor would we ever recommend them to anyone.

This contractor has a team with integrity, professionalism and outstanding customer service. Client preferences were important to them. They tackled the project and its various challenges with grace, efficiency, and reliability and in the end, the work turned out beautifully. A heartfelt thank you to this team! I would not hesitate to recommend this pro.

They are very competent, reliable, knowledgeable, very prompt, their work was very great and in a timely manner, they make it perfect.

Him and his workers are always on time, clean up after themselves, and I have not had any problems with my roof since.

He work is up to standard and I was very happy with the work he had done for me. He has a good team and does good work.
