"It was a pleasure testing your home! I understand that compared to other tests that use different methods such as charcoal canisters this test may seem expensive but it's well worth the money and here is why: 1. I am licensed with the State of Ohio to perform the test. To be licensed you have to go through a thorough training program and testing approved by the State ensuring you have a knowledgeable and capable tester. 2. The device I use is the Radalink AirCat which is one of the most accurate devices on the market providing radon concentration, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure every hour for the 48 hours. The reason this is important is that high humidity affects the results of charcoal canisters. It is also important to have the HVAC system running throughout the test and the other parameters measured let me know that this happened as this can also adversely affect the results of the test. 3. You get a fully detailed 6 page report within minutes of my picking up the monitor showing the trends of the radon concentration throughout the day and night. Charcoal canisters have to be sent to a lab for processing and takes an extra day or two to get the results and what you get is a number, that's it. All things considered it's one of the best values out there and folks have confidence in my test results which is why I am fortunate to be very busy."
