Shorescapes

We hired Tim Smith @ Shorescapes to install patio pavers of our back porch. He said it would take 3 days to complete the job. It took him 6 half days to complete the job. There was supposed to be a sitting wall on a 16 x 16 area and an insert for our BBQ but when he applied for a permit they only allowed 12 x 16. Which kind of altered the plans. The pattern in the pavers were just randomly put down with odd and uneven cuts. It should have been a three-paver pattern throughout the entire patio. When he was done I wasnt home. My wife had just gotten home when they finished and really didnt have a chance to check it all out but she paid him the remainder of the balance. When I got home and saw the job I said she should have withheld payment because a lot of the pavers were uneven, the cuts were shotty, and one paver actually hung over the edge randomly. The polymer they used didn't even penetrate the spaces between the pavers as he got the wrong king with large pebbles in it...as his helper put it down he was right behind him blowing the polymer all around. I called him to come back and they reset the blocks that were sinking and recut the uneven pavers. And he did. I'm not confident that the crush and run was sufficiently packed down because the pavers are shifting again. The BBq area looks like crap, the pavers under it are slanted forward and the design is not right. The wall portion looks so undone. We called a few other contractors in afterward to see if they could fix it. They were like "Who did this job?" it's not done right. The pattern isn't done right and the pavers aren't level. We are getting new estimates to fix his mistakes.

Tim and his team did a fantastic job on our pool deck replacement and landscaping. We could not be happier with the results! Tim and his team were professional, extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and the craftsmanship was beyond all of our expectations. We plan to work with them again on another project that is already in the works. We are pleased to give Tim and his team our highest recommendation!

Tim showed up as scheduled for the estimate. The work was completed on scheduled, the finished product looks great, and the price was very good. He was the only contractor who showed up for an estimate of the 3 who "wanted" the work. Very pleased overall and highly recommend.

We had serious flooding issues in our side yards and back yard and were interested in drain placement and grading. We specifically stated that a neighbor had just backfilled their yard which caused flooding into our yard and that we did not want that to happen to anyone else, which is why we wanted drains placed. We were given two separate quotes. Both were identical but the difference between the two was the use of sod vs just seed and straw placement. Tim suggested sod, stating it would help with our drainage. We walked our property 3 times before starting the job, going over what would be done, and where the drains would be placed. we were told the night before that he was delivering dirt the next day to help with the wetness before they could start work. When they arrived, they actually were starting the job, not just delivering dirt. My husband had to leave work to come remove the fence, which we had asked for notice to be given. Dirt, a drain and sod were placed. They never graded our yard which was the main reason for hire. They placed loads and loads of dirt, never graded it or even raked out the track marks from their machinery. When they laid the sod, this caused high spots low spots and unusual mounds throughout the yard. The drain was placed in the middle of our yard and was not even flush with the grass, making it impossible for it to even do itâ  s job. It was supposed to be placed at the rear edge of our property where the majority of our standing water was, instead it was in the middle of our yard that had no drainage issues. After the back and one side of yard was completed Tim came to me while my husband was at work and asked for more money. He stated that my husband misunderstood the contract and what was supposed to be completed and therefore he needed $1500 more. It was very unprofessional, considering 90% of the job was completed, he was asking me when he had been dealing with my husband, and he tried blaming my husband, despite both of them signing the contract at the start of the job. When I called my husband he knew nothing about this conversation. He came home immediately and when we approached Tim together, he then stated to â  forget he mentioned itâ  and it was his mistake. Our side yard already had a small drainage ditch. This had standing water in it. They started digging this out to place a pipe (no drain initially) and asked US, the homeowners if we knew where the gas line ran. I had to suggest calling miss utilities, which they did, but continued to work digging, before they even came out to map out the yard. That was absolutely unacceptable. The non perforated pipe was laid in the ditch, no dirt was placed to grade the yard as discussed and sod was laid overtop of standing water. There are recordings on my security cameras of water splashing as sod was laid. Within hours of them leaving I was sent an invoice. It rained that day and within an hour the pipe had floated through the sod and was laying on top of the yard. The yard was flooded WORSE than before they had started and areas of our backyard where we had no flooding were now flooding almost ankle deep when walking. He was called and his response was â  I had a feeling that would happen we should have used a different pipeâ  he came out the next day and we walked the property going over our concerns. Numerous times he told us he would fix the issues and that a drain should have been placed on the side yard. He stated that he had gone â  well over budgetâ  but would eat the cost to fix the issue. It is not our fault that he misquoted. He stated the area needed to dry before they could work again but I had to request they come back and remove the pipe because it wasnâ  t allowing any drainage. Weeks later they came and placed a new pipe, a drain, and sod. Our yard looks beautiful however the drainage issues were not taken care of the way we were told.

Tim and his crew were the best to work with and so accommodating....everyone worked well together and got the job done as expected. We are planning more projects and looking forward to having them back to do another part of the yard

Tim listened to our concerns about our flooded yard, communicated clearly about his suggested solution, answered all questions in detail, and provided helpful advice about dealing with the county. His job estimate was prompt and clear. After we authorized the work, he and his team completed the job efficiently and with high quality. We’re very happy with the work and only wish we could have afforded to have the entire property graded. Definitely recommend!

Communication through out the build was great. The final product exceeded our expectation and we are very happy with the end product. Beautiful deck done right! We will hire them again for our next outdoor project.

Tim and his crew were wonderful. He drew up a landscape design and adjusted it for my needs. They did beautiful work, including a new hardscape walkway. I m still getting compliments on what they did.

Shorescapes did an incredible job on transforming our backyard. We went from just grass and some plants to a beautiful outdoor living space with a paved patio. Tim designed and built a beautiful stone retaining wall, then lined the driveway with Belgian block and filled in the landscaping. It is far more beautiful than I imagined. Tim shows up promptly and is easy to work with. I highly recommend him.
