I hired him to replace woodwork and he changed the price on me saying the wood price went up. He did not finish on time. He insisted on painting the woodwork first and made a mess of my house and garage. The woodwork was left sloppy and unfinished. I had to bring in a painter and handyman to finish the project. He is a cheat and scam! His work is sloppy and he grossly overcharged me. Ken is a liar and and terrible contractor. He left me in a mess and ripped me off. Do not use this man!

I had an great experience using Ken and his team. Ken was prompt, valued my time, was honest and did wonderful quality work. I would trust him with any project in my home. I am a bit of a clean freak and his crew wore booties in my home and cleaned up every day. He built us a custom railing and removed a kitchen cabinet to install a wine fridge (also included electrical work). He followed up every day to make sure I was happy and showed up on time every day. He kept me updated through the process about any delays (outside of his control but I still appreciated the updates). I have only great things to say about this company and owner...the work ethic of everyone is something we don't come across often anymore. Wish there were more companies run like this. Warning!!! Ken (a.k.a. Kenny, a.k.a Butch, a.k.a. Emanuel) Tonnessen has a long history of scamming homeowners. (His real name is Emanuel Tonnessen). After you sign a contract with Emanuel, he will attempt to convince you that he needs money upfront to secure pricing. He'll explain that if prices go up, he is not responsible. He also insists that you pay for fictitious increases that are not real. He threatens to abandon the job if you do not pay. After he secures the money upfront, he becomes unresponsive. He has not paid many of his subs (electricians, plumbers, etc.). The quality of his work is poor. He has been evicted from his Oradell address for not paying his rent. He threatens homeowners if they share their experiences on online reviews. He has operated under other business entities including Residential Interiors LLC.
