No one has come to look at the property

We had a simple job, river rock in an area that grass would not grow, about 350 square feet of sod and metal edging along the fence line. The owner came out and gave us an estimate that was reasonable, so we moved forward with the project. The workers were friendly and explained what they were doing. After the job was completed, and the next day we noticed that the river rock in one area was not as deep as we felt it needed to be and the metal edging was short about 5 feet and did not cover the complete length of the fence. We also did not receive a receipt for the work done. I made several calls to see about getting additional river rock and metal edging, and get an estimate on some additional work, including a new tree. I finally received a callback and was told I would get an email with the receipt as soon as the owner got off the phone, and we set up a new time to get a new estimate and address our concerns from the prior work. The day and time we set to meet came and went with me having to call and find out why they did not show up. I was told that she forgot and wanted to reschedule, so we picked Monday evening. Today I received a text message saying that the owner cannot make it since they are still on a job and asked if she could reschedule for later this week. I declined to make a new appointment, and I will find a new contractor to get the things I have left to do, done. Simply Scapes LLC did a good job on the actual job, but customer service is lacking in my opinion.

They were on time, did an excellent job, and charged a reasonable rate. I was well pleased. Highly recommend.

UPDATE: She asked me to take down the review, I said I would edit it when the work was complete. She stated she will not complete the work and insulted me. DO NOT USE! I had Shannon and her crew come out to redo our flowerbed for an anniversary gift for my wife. had high hopes but unfortunately, we were let down in a big way. To start, if you are used to formal communication and organization then I would not recommend using Shannon. I had to constantly remind her what we agreed to, she would send me a statement and I would have to respond with, no we agreed to this and send an updated statement. I requested a specific type of plant and Shannon responded with ok I called some nurseries and I can get 3 of these for $100 apiece. I said ok let us do that. Then the next day she responds with a statement that says these plants are $160 apiece now and when I asked what happened to the call she made yesterday she acted like she had no idea what I was talking about to the point I had to send her a screenshot of the text messages. I do not think she ever made the original call. The big problem we had is we requested orange lilies and she planted yellow daylilies. Of course, we did not know they were yellow until they bloomed. She did not apologize once, never offered to come out and fix them, and when I finally kept texting her about it over the course of a month her response was, I cannot find orange lilies anywhere. I ended up having to chargeback my credit card for the cost of the yellow daylilies as well as the labor that it is going to cost me to install them. If you are used to organization and professionalism and getting what you paid for then I would not recommend Shannon but to be fair, she and her crew did do a pretty good and quick job.

This is the second time we have used this firm and recommend them highly. They were prompt, did all the work and cleaned up. Nice company, nice people.

They were extremely friendly, arrived on time, and got the job done quickly. The best thing is my flower beds look amazing!!!

Shannon is top notch. She has loads of experience, guided me through each process and helped me prioritize a solid plan for yard improvements. Her crew was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend her and her company!!!

On time, cleaned up when job was done, they went above and beyond and I will continue to use Simply Scapes.

She is not bad at what she does but completing this project she failed at. Did not finish the job as agreed. Kept telling me she would be back over to finish and then finally said she is not coming. If you re in a pinch and need something done- maybe- if not - pass.

This company is family owned and they were great people to have handle my project!

All employees were friendly and worked really hard to finish the project in a short period of time.

My experience is that most landscapers are hard to get a hold of, much less to get them to return a message or call. Shannon at Simply Scapes returned my inquiry through Home Advisor within 15 minutes even though it was late in the evening. She was also quicker to return text messages than I usually am. As for the landscaping itself, they showed up on the day scheduled and did the work we agreed to and it looked wonderful. To top it off, Simply Scapes was the lowest bid I received.
