Excellent experience. Up front about cost, called the inspection company when the repair listed on the report didn t make sense, he was very diligent and careful with my costs

$270
Installed bathroom fan at one of my apartments. Because the replacement fan had a slightly different orientation than the one it replaced, the existing ; vent hose was reportedly too short. Thus, the installer had to run to Home Depot and purchase a $20 hose and charge an additional $100 in labor for the time spent doing so. While this would seem appropriate, one would presume that a handyman coming to install a bathroom fan (that universally use a exhaust hose), would come prepared with not only tools to do the job, but also a few spare parts that are common to the work. Also, $20 for a vent hose is at least double what the part costs at Home Depot. Also, he left a mess of grey insulation all over the carpet leading down the stairs and common area of the apartment building. He could have asked the tenant who was present to borrow her vacuum cleaner in order to clean up after himself. Lastly, after sending him the coordinating instructions to contact my tenant, he never responded that he had received the information (I had to check in after a couple days had passed and ask if he had received it). Nice fellow, but I'm not happy that a $7.50 part resulted in a $120 charge, considering that common sense would have been to have had a vent line in his truck when he showed up. If you hire a plumber to fix a leaky faucet, you'd expect him to have replacement springs and seats in his truck and not have to run to Home Depot for common parts. This was no different.
