SkyPark Canyon Construction

Adam Childress of Sky Park Canyon Construction, LLC accepted almost $9k as advance half payment for a large renovation job in North Las Vegas. His people completed about 10% of the work on the estimate after which he DEMANDED an additional $5,400 to *continue* work. I said, far too little progress was in evidence to justify handing over even more cash. Mr. Childress then yanked his crews asserting that I was to blame for the disruption of work, and threatening me with massive contract penalties as if the work disruption was my doing. I volunteered to place the remaining project funds in escrow if he would post a bond greater than the project cost (~$18k) plus customer supplied materials (~$14k) with some buffer in case something should come up later (e.g. a $40k bond would be about right). Sky Park Canyon Constrcution, LLC has a $10k bond, as required by the licensing bureau - grossly inadequate for taking on jobs of this magnitude. Conclusion, Mr. Adam Childress is a skilled sales guy, but also a bully who absconded with $8k in funds that he and his crews did not earn. They also took the opportunity to enter my house as an opportunity to take my stuff. One of his team borrowed a ladder and they took that after they left. I would look elsewhere.

Their attention to detail was great and their communication was excellent, which was just what I needed.
