I bought a faucet at Loweâ s to replace my existing one I planned to install it myself but with the rust in proximity to the sink I was not old legal complete this I called Loweâ s to recommend an installer. They quoted me $250. I went to Home Depot and talk to their customer service and was given five recommendations. While standing at the counter with the Home Depot rep printing out my list my phone rang, It was James offering service. He came the next day. He did the install for $100 less than my quote at Loweâ . Being a Vetran., I love to support Vetran own businesses. This was a great experience, and I will use them in the future

If you want high-quality, detailed work, with a nice finish, this is NOT the guy. The job was to enlarge an interior crawl space opening and replace the existing frame/door with an insulated door and weather stripping. It was $375 plus an additional $125 for insulating materials/labor. For this price, I was expecting a completely finished, well-installed product, with quality materials and remaining mess/job materials to be cleaned up. The first concern was that a small drop blanket was used in front of the door. But, knowing that you are cutting into a concrete block and the subsequent dust that permeates the air, this would hardly be sufficient. The smoke alarms in the entire house went off due to the amount of dust that was created and not blocked appropriately to keep from getting all over the house. Which I have to hire a cleaner for now. When the job was finished and I pointed out the materials and dust/debris collected around the worksite, including a nail left behind, I was informed that he did not have a shop vac and does not normally clean up building materials. I was never informed of this prior to the work, right there I would have hired someone else. The additional money spent on insulation labor and materials was used on; narrow stick-on weather stripping that was falling down due to half the adhesive part left to open air, which then stuck to the back of the door, causing it to pull and fall when opened; and Styrofoam board, screwed into the back of the door, partly held on with a busted part of a ruler, and not secured at all on one side. I was told this was quality work and that he had technically used what we had agreed on. The front trim/door is marked up and, the trim which he reused from the previous door is too short on one side. Instead of informing me, so I could decide to replace the trim, he re-installed it and said there is nothing I can do about that. Additionally, the front latch does not line up and cannot be closed properly. I pointed out various items but was told I technically got what we agreed upon. I went ahead and paid the full amount to end the interaction as it was evening already. The next morning, I notified him that I was still displeased and, that the door is not able to function as a proper latching door, nor is the price for the additional insulating materials and poor labor he used justifiable. He then told me I had "flown into a rage because I touched the sticky falling weather stripping." I asked for a small discount ($40-$50) so I could get necessary repairs. He refused. I genuinely wanted to find someone I could use time and again for various work. But, unfortunately, I did not find that with Jay. Buyer beware.

Response from Company:

Miss Ritlop, I am sorry that you do not feel the quality of my work was good enough for your standards. After I reviewed everything you wrote, I am disappointed to see not only did you voice concerns that were not factual and true, but also, you failed to inform others about your abusive behavior towards me as you and I stood there inspecting the final product that I created for you. Although weather stripping was nicely installed / functional around the door, and insulation solidly installed / functional on the door as agreed, you caught me off guard in the beginning of our final inspection when you flew into a tirade, cursed at me while you began slapping the weather stripping off the top of the door exclaiming it was flimsy! Although it was not true, you tore off the top line of insulation in front of my eyes-only minutes after I had installed it (assuming it was flimsy as you destroyed my work), but found out nothing was further from the truth. Although I was frightened by your anger and wanted to leave, I tried to calm you as I attempted to re-stick the weatherstripping you just destroyed. I demonstrated how the door opened and closed perfectly. I also demonstrated the use of the latch, and everything worked very well without a reasonable issue. You, in turn, performed a return demonstration and agreed... everything was working as it should. As I attempted to calm your erratic behavior, I asked if you had any questions. You continued to complain about the choice of materials used in addition to the price that we previously agreed upon to complete the work. Never at any time did you voice ANY concern about the quality of the work. I watched you closely inspecting everything. You complained about the cost we agreed upon in the beginning. Miss Ritlop, with all due respect, does not negotiate and agree upon a labor price, in the beginning, to perform quality work and then re-negotiate the labor cost again after the project has been completed. We looked at the carpet in the work area and everything looked clean except for a small amount of Styrofoam particles on the floor. You made NO complaint about cleanliness before I left. If so, I would have taken action. Before the work had begun, NEVER at any time did ANY conversation occur about a Shop-Vac. The drop cloth used had caught 98% of all dust and cinder block pieces that I cut during your project. I closed the door to the small room I was working in. Someone had already covered the small bed in that room with a large sheet. I opened the windows, and placed a fan there to blow the dust outside (you were not there to see, because you informed me that you were Post-Op from surgery and (understandably) resting upstairs. Ask your mother...she provided me with the fan to place in the window. You made NO objection about the floor while in my presence. I happen to notice a single nail laying on the carpet and said? be careful!? as I quickly picked up the nail and put it in my pocket. Immediately you began escalating with your tone exclaiming? ok, great! that is great!?. I thought you were going to start verbally abusing me again. At this point, I informed you that I should leave. You responded by saying ? yeah, good idea!, get out!?. I was silent and walked to your door and exited as quickly as I could without running. Although I never agreed to remove the old cut out cinderblock from your property, I performed a courtesy haul away service by taking this construction debris (heavy) to the county land fill and PAID to dump it. You contacted me the next morning via text attempting to convince me that our initial agreement was not reasonable, and the work, (that I had just completed in great working order) had come apart. Furthermore, you informed me that if I did not give you a refund, ?I will need to take other actions?. I offered to return-you refused. you wanted a cheaper price all along.

Jay installed three safety grab-bars in our showers perfectly; repaired a leaky showerhead and caulked the outside of the bathtub at floor level. Also repaired a door latch that was malfunctioning. He is a fast, efficient, sweet-natured guy and we will have him again.

5.0 Jamie S. Villa Rica, GA

I hired Jay on two separate occasions. He built me amazing stair railings the first time. He had all the supplies when he came and quoted me over the phone. His workmanship is outstanding. The second time he came out it was a emergency. He came out the same day with all supplies and helped us out in our hour of need. He is a stand up guy and a excellent person of character. His workmanship is outstanding. He can do anything. I won't hire anyone else , his prices and character cant be beat!!!!

Professional and polite. Job well done.

5.0 Melinda D. Roopville, GA

Jay came to the house the same afternoon I called & did a very professional job of fixing the issue I called him about. He asked for a photo of the problem area before he arrived so he could bring all necessary items to do the work. He is thorough, knowledgeable, and very pleasant. I plan to call on him for some other projects that need to be completed.
