Nick is very professional and knows his products.


Owner Nick Vara and his Tech Staff installed my Ring System, including 3 ring Cameras, solar panels, and a Ring Doorbell. Excellent job, quickly dispatched. They even cleaned up their sawdust! They synced my phone and taught me how to use the Ring App. There are some things that are worth paying for: Experience, Knowledge, and Skill. They also sent me texts reminding me of the upcoming appointment, and showed up promptly on time. Happy to give them 5 out of 5 stars!

They were to hang 5 nest cameras and could only complete half the job. I think they bid the job without understanding what they needed to do. Worker could not complete b/c the bid was not accurate. I hung the other cameras that they could not hang pretty easily myself. Bummer.

Ben, We are sorry you feel the way that you do. we as a company feel very strongly about doing a good job and customer service, as is reflected by most of our reviews on this platform and every other platform, we would never leave a customer hanging as you imply in your comments. As the owner of Smart Tech Security, I take the job and performance of my employees very personally. I believe it's only fair that the full picture is explained and since you gave your perspective, I will give mine. I have been doing this type of work for a very long time so a complete understanding of the work to be done and the scope of what was needed was not an issue. The job was to install 5 wifi cameras that you were providing these types of cameras, although wireless for video still require a power source. During our initial walkthrough, you had pointed out several power outlets that could be used. When my tech arrived at your house for the install he did his job and checked these power outlets to find they were not active, you also had construction being done on your back patio area, also, you were not able to find and order two of the cameras you wanted us to install. Because of these reasons, it was YOUR decision to have us install only 3 of the 5 cameras. You were only charged less than half of the original bid so all in all, it was a fair deal. I'm glad Home Advisor has a forum like this where customers can post their opinions of our performance, it helps me gauge how we are doing. Unfortunately, it also allows for false narratives to be conveyed as in this case. I'm also glad it gives me a chance to paint the full picture. Again, I'm sorry your project did not end up as you wanted but I'm glad you were able to finally get your remaining cameras installed. Best of luck -Nick

Great people, great service, great install. We are super happy we went with Smart Tech for our NVR system, which is now covering the entire perimeter of our house. We also have view of cars parked in front of our house, which is great. Love the system, however it’s not super intuitive as it is more of a pro system with a tons of features. It wasn’t cheap (but also not a bank breaker), but what cost do put on security and peace of mind? Well worth it.
