We have hired Shawn for multiple projects around our home- and we liked his work, so it was a no-brainer to hire him for our addition. As time went on, and his money management had him not being able to pay subcontractors, we noticed the quality of the work was horrible. Now we just settled with over $30,000 in damages from his insurance company, and looks like another $10,000 plus for the shower that leaked through to the floor below. Biggest complaint- he vanished. In October of 2020, after multiple letters and begin to get him to correct craftsmanship, and after having to pay the trades balances, he went silent. He then claimed WE owed him money. It is now 6 months later, and we were preparing to sell. The repairs and money we had to put out to finish his work is too much. The new owners will have an amazing house because we had to pay for the repairs. To boot, he called in an inspection March of 2021, so the permit on the house was extended another 180 days. We only found out by calling Regional. We now have to take over the permit and try and pass ourselves. If you hire him, know you are supporting a man that took our trust, and hurt our family. Just because he was good to you (he was good to us too) does not mean he has no problem walking away when he is held accountable. Shame on you Shawn.

This is an update to the a deck replacement completed for me in 2018. While I was cleaning my deck I notice that one of the metal railings had come loose. I texted Shaun at Smart's and told him about it. He responded immediately and said he would stopped by to check it out. He did and fixed it without a word to me and no charge. WOW, such customer service. Excellent company with high standards... Highly recommended to do business with and with reasonable prices.

Shaun remodeled my master bathroom. He did a great job! I would highly recommend this company and plan to use them again for another project.

Shaun replaced an exterior door and installed a storm door. He also replaced some bad siding in the same area. Shaun did a great job at a very fair price.

We made several changes and he welcomed our changes. He was very friendly. He also did an outstanding job. He did all the changes that we asked for. I would highly recommend Smarts Construction to any one wanting to do any remodel work on their home.

Shaun remodeled my garage to office and formal dining room. Superior work and always friendly to work with. Highly detailed and great work ethic. Will certainly keep in mind for upcoming home projects.

I had specified one hand rail on the steps, so that was the way it was written on the contract. The wife decided that we should have hand rails on both sides. Called Shaun that we wanted add the additional hand rail. He came by this morning and added the hand rail. I was prepared to pay for this additional cost, but he said Robbin Smart wanted to do this at no additional cost. Lee Matoush

Had Shaun put a new front door in a house that was built in the 40's. The house has settled and is not square but they did an excellent job of fitting the door in and making it look real good.

Shaun is very knowledgeable and great to work with. He explained my project and why he needed to do what he did. He let me choose which work to perform based on my budget and has a no pressure professional approach. His experience is apparent and it shows in the detail of his work. His employees are also professional and respect your personal property and space.

job was more complicated than expected and more $. Could have had some more discussion on the overruns, but I was not too surprised @ all that. I liked Shaun.

Well I'm going to get a little flowery here simply because this is what I feel. Shaun is one of the last few remaining honorable men around and Colorado should be well pleased indeed hat his escape from the East Coast was successful. The craftsmanship he brought to the table was overwhelming and was bordering on perfection. So yes, I am well pleased with the product he created and I would gladly recommend Shaun's services to anyone who would ask. ps: If you manage to have a couple of down days on your current project do you think you would like to come over and tinker with that "shelf, door"? Please don't take any time off from your project.

Shaun and Dan did a fantastic job ! They are both very professional and courteous. I had a daily update from Shaun and everything was neatly cleaned up at the end of every day. My deck looks wonderful! I would definitely recommend Shaun and Dan and look forward to using Smart's Construction for any future projects.

i would recommend Shaun and his helper Dan to any project you had to offer. Shaun very professional, cleans-up after each day, communicates with you at all times and finishes when he told you he would. Priced very competitive and he does all the work with Dan. Shaun can do any project you need with great suggestions all the way. I will use him for now on for all my projects and refer him to all my friends.

Shaun was a pleasure to work with on our total bathroom renovation. He showed up every day with a smile on his face, it is evident that he does enjoy his job! Shaun gave us a very reasonable quote and was much more thorough than any of the other contractors we had give us quotes. We are very happy with our new bathroom. He is very capable and confident in his work. He took our second floor bathroom down to the studs and built it back with radiant heat on the floor, framed in built in cabinets and hampers, as well as bead board trim detail around a mirror. It looks fabulous! He got the job done in just 20 days with permits and inspections.

Shaun is an exemplary craftsman and very honest and trustworthy. He did a total renovation on our bathroom, and we are thrilled with the result. Shaun was on-time every day, very attentive to not damaging anything in the house during the project, and came in exactly on budget. I would recommend Shaun without hesitation, and have already hired him to do a second project.
