About us

Ashley Smith is the founder and owner of Smith Family Property Detectives LLC, a family-owned Virginia home inspection company dedicated to helping clients make informed real estate decisions. Ashley is a Virginia Licensed Home Inspector and a Virginia Class A Licensed General Contractor (HIC) with more than 20 years of hands-on construction and remodeling experience. She holds an Associate Degree in Business Management and has earned certifications in mold remediation, water damage restoration, fire and disaster remediation, and drainage solutions, giving her the expertise to identify issues that many inspectors may overlook. In addition to owning Smith Family Property Detectives, Ashley manages the day-to-day operations of the award-winning Smith Family Painting & Projects LLC, which has earned the 2025 Angi Super Service Award, multiple Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite awards, and maintains a consistent 4.9?5-star customer rating. Her extensive experience in both construction management and home inspections allows her to provide clients with thorough, unbiased evaluations and exceptional service. More than just painting,. Put down a new floor, installed new ceiling fans, installed new kitchen island. Refebished my old existing counter tops. Over all a great experience and a job well done.
