Dave was helpful suggesting what I should do to floor to help the insulation he put in the porch ceiling. I would recommend him for any insulation projects.

Mike was the only contractor who would guarantee I would have no future ice dams if I followed his protocol. He just completed the project a few hours ago and my home is notably warmer. I had two other contractors out and neither of them walked upstairs to view the knee wall. His estimate was higher than the other two, but after speaking with Dave I knew the job would be done right.

I called Dave and explained what I wanted done. He came out and explained what was needed for my attic. Dave is very experienced and knowledgeable about his craft. I needed new roof vents and insulation for my attic. Dave and Blake did a great job! They finished the job in two days!

I called SOL-CON and talked to Dave Mitchell. In short order, I realized I wasn't talking to a run-of-the-mill contractor. It was more like talking to a doctor trying to diagnose an illness. Questions about how the house behaved in winter and summer. Cold spots? Warm spots? Conditions causing excessive run times for furnaces and air conditioners? Dave was able to isolate root causes for the problems we were having and develop a comprehensive plan to address them. Looking back, I am stunned at how poorly the original builder insulated this house. Now, the problems have been solved and I'm not dreading those single-digit temperatures that have characterized Michigan winters over the past few years. My only regret is that I didn't do this five years ago.

I have 3450 sq ft home built in 1998. The master bedroom is upstairs and has always been uncomfortable when the temp gets above 80 degrees. The central air unit would not cool the house uniformly. The down stairs would be freezing and the upstairs would be hot. I thought my solution was going to be to add a second air conditioning unit but based on reviews I decided to give Dave a call and see what options were available. I was glad I did. Dave explained that my roof was not properly ventilate and lacked insulation. I was a little leery at first. When I had a new roof installed I went with ridge vents. Read a lot of info on vents. Dave directed me to new construction in high end subs in the $500K to $900k range, sure enough they were all using roof not ridge vents. Then I worried about mixing ridge and roof vents. Again, not a problem, if you know what you're doing. Do I spend the money with Dave, find out the master bedroom is still hot and then have the additional expense of the second air condition unit? Well I'm glad went with Dave. As luck would have it, after Dave installed the insulation and additional roof vents, it never got hot again. I had to wait to this latest round of + 80-degree weather to see what happens. Dave was correct, the temperature difference between the upstairs and downstairs is about 1 degree. As an added bonus our heating bill dropped dramatically. Sol Con is not a large company with sales managers and someone else doing the install. The person you talk to and does the install is Dave. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about his work. Yes, you may have to work with Dave on scheduling, but it is well worth it. Thank you, Dave, for providing us with cool nights sleep!
