"Andrea, we take legitimate customer concerns seriously, but this review omits important context and contains several inaccurate statements. The accepted proposal was for a fixed-price asbestos-abatement project. It was not a per-square-foot quote or an open-ended estimate requiring the final invoice to be recalculated after completion. The written proposal contained no promise that the agreed price would be reduced based on a later field measurement. Pricing for regulated asbestos work includes mobilization, licensed labor, insurance, equipment, containment and safety procedures, regulated disposal, compliance requirements, and project overhead. Many of these costs do not decrease proportionally simply because the affected area measures smaller than a homeowner?s initial approximation. The work was completed successfully, on schedule, and without any complaint regarding the quality, safety, or completeness of the removal. The agreed price had also been reviewed and approved through the insurance process. The pricing dispute arose only after the project was completed, when Andrea requested that the already agreed-upon price be retroactively reduced. The ServPro estimate referenced in this review included a materially different scope involving repair, paint, flooring, and other restoration work. Comparing that estimate with a licensed asbestos-abatement proposal is not an apples-to-apples comparison. It is unfortunate that a successfully completed project resulted in a one-star review more than a year later because we declined to issue a post-completion price reduction that was not required by the contract. We stand behind the work performed, the agreed pricing, and the documentation supporting this project."
