Business Overview

How We Got Started

I chose to work in this industry because The mission of Solar Service is to Keep Your Solar Running for the Long Haul. Sadly, so many solar owners find out their installers are out of business whenever they need someone to help them take care of their system post installation. That’s where Solar Service fills the gap. Need your solar panels cleaned? We offer the best in class cleaning methods. Critters building nests and chewing on your wires? We can get them out from under your system, make all necessary repairs, and install a critter guard fence so they won’t come back. Hail storm roll through recently? Whether you need to remove and reinstall your solar for a re-roof, or need help working with your manufacturer to get your solar system back online, Solar Service can help. Having solar panel microinverter problems? We will help you manage this difficult situation and come up with a plan that makes the most sense for you. Think your solar system is under-producing? .

We started in this industry in 12015.

We describe our business as Rooted in the community

Project: Repair Solar Panels For Electric System
Had a SMA SunnyBoy inverter die out of the blue after a year and a half in service. H A gave us Solar Service as a contact. Things worked out great. SMA had the part here before the installers arrived. They quickly responded via email and phone call for the job. Its kind of hard to get service out in the rural hill country area, but they had no problem. They were here early. Assessed the situation. They dismantled the old inverter for a few parts to transfer to new unit. They labeled and took pictures of original. Mounted new one and reconnected. That was the easy part. The tough part is reconfiguring the web connect monitoring software. It is important to have the owners manual readily available as the replacement unit did not come with install notes for web connect module. You need to actually get on the phone with SMA support to register the unit and use the PID and password info on unit label. No matter if you think you did password change, the unit needs its password from the label. So after some back and forth conversations with SMA, the unit is finally connected. They took pictures of the steps along the way and created a report. The details and pictures are sent via email with their invoice. You must pay online as they do not accept direct payment on site visit. This was the only weird part as it sends an email to pay and you choose pay by credit card or bank withdrawal or similar, but no way to print invoice and mail payment. They did not have a method to accept the SMA service credit discount. Overall Solar Service did a fantastic job getting our system back up and going. Not only did they install the inverter, they packed up the old inverter to send back to SMA. Thanks, that really saved us time not having to deal with a shipping company; this was one less thing to worry about. Great service, you will not be disappointed. The system seems to be working better than the original inverter. Would highly recommend them.

Solar service gave us an accurate evaluation of the problem with the installation of our solar system that another company had installed incorrectly. We were able to use the report from Solar Service to get the installer to correct the errors in the installation.
