About us

Sommers Homes is a family owned and operated, full-service, design-build, hands-on residential general contractor. Since inception in 2002, we have built 36 houses and completed over 50 major remodeling projects. Our company places a high value in honesty, hard work, quality craftsmanship, creativity, practicality, economic viability and design sensitivity. We begin by working with a client to envision how to best design and utilize space to meet their unique goals. Our constant focus is to bring that vision to fruition through hands-on, fine craftsmanship in an on-going conversation with the client. Our in-house skill set includes: CAD design, project management, framing carpentry, custom cabinetry, fine interior woodwork and decorative iron work. We pride ourselves in the ability to work with a wide variety of interior and exterior styles including but not limited to: transitional, mid-century modern, craftsman, modern industrial and lodge. We look forward to working with you!

I initially hired them to provide me a bid to convert my 1920s attic into a more usable space and to insulate. They came out and we walked the space, measured the stair area and crawled into the crawl space to look at the retaining walls - they determined that a conversion would require extensive structural support and the stairs would also not be up to code within the barriers. I appreciated their honesty - so we moved forward on the insulation. They did all the ordering, came on time, and did an excellent job cleaning up.

Brian is a very thoughtful planner; he puts a great deal of thought into all his projects. He's very creative as well. It's the best of both worlds. We had wonderful results for an unusual space. He was able to highlight the unique space in way that was so skilled and creative, I myself would not have thought of that. He's very conscientious and trustworthy. He puts a lot of himself in the work that he does. He's a practical perfectionist. He always figures out how to make it work.
