Steve removed all old siding, wrapped, resided house, replaced gutters and front door/sidelights units, replaced back garage doors and windows, replaced old exterior lights with new, made pediments for the ten front windows, replaced portico railing, installed shutters.

We cannot recommend Steve and Rick enough! We reached out to 5 different companies for quotes to replace our rotting deck and Steve’s quote came out right in the middle but he stood out far above the rest in his attention to detail. He walked us through his process, step by step, for what needed to be done and made us feel confident in his abilities. His written quote was just as detailed and listed everything they planned to do with all the technical details included. We knew that this project would be an expensive endeavor, but all this detail made us confident we would get our money’s worth. After seeing the completed deck now, you would think he was the most expensive choice. Not only is the deck structurally sound (probably stronger than the house itself), but his craftsmanship and attention to detail made it a work of art and worth every penny. Steve went above and beyond to make sure that we were incredibly happy and gave us regular walkthroughs to show progress throughout the project. Breathtaking… Stunning…Gorgeous! All are words our family and friends have used to describe our beautiful new kitchen, thanks to Steve, Jon, and Joe. Everything came out better than expected, and we don’t think the process could have gone any more smoothly. From demo day to about 95% complete, the kitchen took about 7 weeks – the final 2 weeks were really just waiting on the countertops to arrive. We did a full kitchen gut and remodel, which included taking down the wall between our kitchen and dining room. 2 windows were removed and 1 new one added; the exterior work was flawless and you’d never know anything changed from the outside! The workmanship shows throughout the kitchen, and you can tell there is pride in the work and attention to detail. We had no hesitations when we left for work each day leaving our home in the hands of Steve, Jon, and Joe, and they always carefully cleaned up the workspace. Jon and Joe worked meticulously, and were conscientious about even the smallest details. We thoroughly loved working with South Eastern Carpentry and absolutely love our new kitchen. Steve worked with us from start to finish, and has stuck by his word for cleaning up the last little bit of touch-ups in the kitchen. It was great to work with a contractor who also has an eye for design, and was able to make suggestions along the way. We’re already thinking about our next project to have the guys back for!

Steve and his team are A+ builders, designers, craftsmen, and construction professionals who had the ability to get us from vision to reality through relentless planning and execution. I think of Steve, John, and Joe as our partners in this home project and not just as contractors and carpenters. The team's attention to detail was very impressive. Every corner of trim or siding or window or decking, where one material meets another, just looks plain clean and awesome. The professionalism of the entire team was beyond stellar. Stephen and team are excellent. Stephen was very easy and straight forward to work with in terms of scoping the work and pricing it out. We had other quotes, one at a lower cost, and his provided the most detail of the work involved. He is very communicative, more so than any other contractor I have worked with. Even while we waited on the windows to arrive, he kept us posted on the progress and timing of completing the work. He and his team are great at what they do, all very polite and respectful, and that carries over into the work done - very well done. They worked with us on a few changes, providing options and making recommendations. The work, itself, was excellent and met with Anderson installation requirements required to uphold the warranty. We would definitely work with Stephen and team again!

South Eastern Carpentry demolished our old deck and built a new Azek composite 31' x 18' deck with Key-Link railing and horizontal cables, including a whole new frame, stairway, and several footings. We cannot remark positively enough about Steve, the owner, and his crew of John and Joe. They hold themselves to exceptionally high standards in quality and professionalism, are personable, and communicate well. The new frame greatly exceeded building code standards, and our town Building Inspector remarked privately to us that he greatly respected Steve's projects among all the work he examines. A couple of unforeseen problems came up during the construction which Steve was able to solve on the fly, but Steve nevertheless stayed within the contract price and finished the deck when he said he would. They have a very strong work ethic, as evidenced by their excavating 4-foot deep footings by hand in 95 degree heat. Even though this was Steve's first Key-Link horizontal cable deck, he quickly progressed through a steep learning curve to a point, at the end, where he could have given Key-Link's engineers a few pointers about how to improve their product and make it easier to build. Steve and his crew took a level of expertise that is expected from finish carpenters, and applied those same skills and levels of quality to our deck.

So the Eastern Carpentry is top notch contractor . They explaining everything Hingham that need to be done. They gave options on what could be done ( option 1 keep the frame and replace the decking or a totally new deck including base frame work. I chose to keep the frame and the beefed it up to make it right for the composite decking. The job was done per the schedule they suggested and they also replaced some of my siding and trim while also adding proper flashing were the deck Meeks the house. They do a very professionalAL job and the entire deck look great. I highly recommend them. You get what you pay for and these guys are really good.

We used South Eastern Carpentry to finish our 300 sq ft basement. Steve's vision, attention to detail and execution surpassed our expectations. We met with Stephen and were immediately impressed by his knowledge, punctuality, and attention to detail. He just seemed to care more about the prospective job, and know more about the work to be done than the others who came out for a first look at our house. We ended up asking SEC to replace all of our doors (including the front door and a slider) during the project, and are so happy that we did. Everything looks amazing and we get compliments on their work by everyone who sees it. If you're looking for fine craftsmanship, the works these gentlemen do will not be surpassed, and they use high-end quality materials. Over the few weeks Stephen, Jon and Joe spent working on our house, even our dog (who is generally very skeptical of males) loved having them here--maybe not relevant to the work, but I think it speaks volumes to their character. Great group of guys. You'll be happy you hired them.

We hired Stephen Chorney to complete the bathroom renovations in our home. One bathroom was a large master bath that had been really poorly designed as the result of an addition. Stephen helped us completely redesign the space including moving plumbing to different areas of the room. In the second bathroom, we kept everything in its same place but took out all the old fixtures and made it like new. This job wasn't cheap. And at first it felt like a huge vitamin to swallow, but as we got into it, we really understood why. Stephen not only had to coordinate with his plumber, plasterer, and electrician, but also with a total of NINE different inspection visits from the city. What seems like a small space to redo is actually more like a complicated ballet of contractors and professionals. There could have been major gaps of time getting all these guys to line up at the right moments, but somehow Stephen made it work so that we had literally no down time on the job. One of the nicest things about this company, is the guys Stephen works with. His crew, Joe and John, are timely, courteous, always checking in to make sure things are okay, respectful, and neat. They work their tails off. Same with his sub-contractors. He has long-term relationships with these guys and it shows in how the job gets done. We had a few little punch list items at the end that showed up, and they were great about coming back out and truly finishing the job 100%. I would absolute not hesitate to hire them again. Not the cheapest guys around, but they work on your job start to finish and do beautiful work. The old adage you get what you pay for holds true here. We were extremely pleased by the quality, professionalism and dedication. Having begun the project in late November the weather proved to be unpredictable, but they worked through it all, including snow and brutal cold. They were also extremely pleasant and very responsive to all of our questions and concerns. The quality of our new deck exceeds our expectations!

Steve and his crew did an amazing job. When they demolished the old stairs and decks, there were issues with the foundation revealed. Steve contacted me (while I was traveling abroad) as it was important to make decisions. He contacted an architect and the building inspector for the town and gave me my options. We had to make a complete design change which I approved via e-mail and telephone. He sent me photos every day of what was happening. The project did take an additional week, but the finished job is beautiful and was approved by the town. It is safe and sturdy. The price had to go up a bit just from the increase in hours that the crew had to put in. They were all so professional and competent. They arrived on time every day (My sister stayed in my first floor condo while the construction was going on and gave me feedback). They worked diligently and were always polite and courteous. I already knew Steve's work from the kitchen he had done in my friend's home. You cannot go wrong with South Eastern Carpentry, they are the best contractors around!

The project went as smoothly as possible and it was done as scheduled. The crew was punctual, and always very respectful of our space as they have been in the past. They did a superb job with a spectacular deck all done to our liking. Steve and his men were a pleasure to work with, they were professional and they knew their craft well. Overall, we were very satisfied and we look forward to working with this company again in the near future on other home improvements!
