Where to begin. George and his partner initially came over at 11am after saying between 8-10. Not super big deal. This was on a tuesday. They began moving my mothers stuff when halfway through they realized it was more than their 26' truck was going to take. They promised her theyd come back thursday to finish the job since it was going to be the last day we were in the house before moving. George stopped answering my moms calls. I called him at 8am on the day of the final move and he claimed he gets alot of spam calls from her area code (my phone is the same area code). He said he wouldnt be able to move her but made calls and his friend at another company would call us and help. It took them 11 hours when they told my mom 4 (we will get to that). He didnt move any of her storage racks to the basement and left them in her small garage and also left out a box of food which spoiled (it was labeled kitchen Fridge food). 11am on thursday comes and no call from his friend. I text George and he gives me his friends phone # and website. We call them and his friend said he doesnt understand why George would promise us that he would finish the job. He was never told of us and was booked solid for a month and apologized profusely. George simply lied to not deal with us. I call George back and his partner picks up, we tell him the situation and he said "Ill get back to you" and hung up before I could say anything. 30 mins later George texts me saying he cant help us and my mom should have been more transparent in how much stuff we had. He said for us to go find a mover on craigslist to finish the job. South Metro Movers left a 70 yr old woman stranded on the day of her move. She was unable to find any local moving truck rentals considering it was middle of day and last minute. All booked up. Luckily for my mother we had a truck we were using for our move and i had to spend extra to keep it longer and drive it further to help her. We only needed a small budget truck to finish the job. I would never recommend South Metro Movers to anyone. George claims my mother was not transparent with how much she had. How is she supposed to gauge the amount? Thats not her job, thats his job as a so called professional mover. She even called George a week before the move to confirm the time and the amount she had. She felt it would take a lot longer than the 4 hours they agreed on. George said no problem, itll only be 4 hours. It ended up being 10-11 hours. He knew halfway through the job, the truck would not be enough. Why did he not start making calls then or start looking at his schedule to fit in another 2 hours on thursday? He was not transparent himself and literally continually lied about helping her for TWO days with absolutely no intention of actually doing so. He even tried to throw his friends moving company under the bus and said he talked to them and they would finish the job. When we called his friends company, they openly said George never contacted them and were quite angry he would even lie and use their name to just get rid of the unfinished job. South Metro Movers is highly unprofessional. Do not trust them, no matter how friendly and accomodating they appear to be.
