Contract was broken. I plan to take the owners to Southern Lawn to court to address this issues.

Never could get them to contact me at work as I requested, or to actually come out and quote the job. Consequently I hired someone else to do the work. I'm very disapointed.

This company delayed completion of the project by 3 weeks and also lied to my wife and I about the status of materials and failed to return repeated calls as follow up. I also paid them $255 as a 1/2 payment on 3 trees. They are also delaying repayment after we cancelled the job. I will not use this company again.

I am a general contractor, and I needed to have some concrete steps build for a customer that we were finishing up a major project with. I met with Bryan Barfield, the president of Southern Lawn, about 3 weeks ago, and we agreed on the project scope and price. I gave him a check for $750 which was 50% of the total project price, and he agreed to start in the next day or two. He cashed the check two days later, but no one from his company ever showed up, and he would not return my phone calls (I called his cell phone directly, and his administrative assistant). After several days, he called back and claimed that his voice mail was giving him problems. Obviously, this was a lie, since I had called his office and spoken to his assistant directly. I told him we had hired someone else, so I needed him to send me a reimbursement check. He agreed. It has now been two weeks, and I have not received a check from him. My voice mails have gone unreturned. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB, and taking legal action if necessary.

I needed a lawn service to maintain my property that I was in the process of selling. I paid $200 to have my lawn mowed 5 times from the end of April to the end of May. This company mowed my lawn twice (that I can tell) during this time. For the past three weeks, I have been trying to get a refund for the missed mowings. Nobody from the company will call me back. It's amazing how companies like this can stay in business with poor/borderline criminal customer service. I guess the next stop will be small claims court.

The end result of my project was very good. The dry creek bed was as close to what I had envisioned as possible. Although I never met Brian, the owner, he was open to feedback without becoming defensive. The timeline originally quoted was 1.5 days, which turned into 1 wk...though there were issues beyond his control. Brian's project mngr, Mike, was very courteous and took direction well and was up front when timeline and project challenges arose. Strength: courteous & value. Weakness: communication. I would hire Southern Lawn again..but would be clearer on expectations up front via contract, verbal, and face time with Brian. I wish this company the best of luck.

I am canceling my contract today. I had to overnight them a check so they could have it by Fri. 4/16 and could start that weekend on a weekly service plan. I is now 4/26 and they have not been to my house. Every day they tell me they will be there tomorrow or in a few hours, but never show.
