Hi, my name is William Buchanan (Buck for short) I have been doing different types of contractor work for many years, including all types of underground piping but have found my expertise in excavation and landscaping. We are also now doing a lot of concrete flat work, including removal of your old cracked driveway and replacement with a new professionally finished product that will add beauty and value to your home. I will bring 32 years of experience and a strong passion for what I do to your home and get the job done right the first time. At Southern Pipe and Backhoe Services, we take pride in our work and your project, and will complete it successfully the first time.

Concrete Driveways & Floors Installation
Buck and his crew were easy to work with and very professional. Buck came out surveyed our request for replacement of drive way , sidewalk, and two pads. He made suggestions about what would be best for the job. He also did excavation work. He added a new gravel bed for the driveway and new wire in the concrete for stability. The finished job was much better than we could have hoped for. Buck came back did a excellent clean up and touch up. We would highly recommend him for any concrete work. We plan on using him again for future work in the spring.

"We had this and another small pour scheduled for a Saturday. One of our young finishers laid out and left us a man short. I made the decision, in order to complete the first job satisfactorily, we would not be able to split off and go pour the second job; which cost me money.. I immediately notified the second customer; then rescheduled and poured his job on Monday. It came out great. Sometimes when coordinating a group of men, things can get complicated. Thanks for understanding..."

Mr. Buchanan (Buck) and his team are top shelf. Buck called me within 30 minutes of me submitting a contractor request to Home Advisor and was able to meet me at the job site that same day. We went over the job I needed done and Buck quoted me a very fair price. The work went smoothly and is of high quality. "This customers concrete parking lot is full of cracks, settled areas, and sunken spots. The concrete is about 50 years old and needs to be completely removed and replaced. We ( patched ) an area that had settled approximately 2 - 3 inches and was damaging cars. He didn't want to pay to have the concrete sawcut, just dug out and poured back cracked side to cracked side. You can't make chicken soup out of chicken . Also he only paid me 75% of the agreed upon price."

I had three quotes completed, out of all three Buck seemed to know the most about what was being poured. He was prompt in his work and kept me in the loop of what was happening when. We had to wait a few days to pour the driveway due to rain, but it wasn't a big deal. I would highly recommend his services.

"This was a very difficult job for a doctor in Huntsville - total removal and replacement of concrete drive and sidewalk. The drive was lined with pine trees that had just been removed, however there were literally thousands of roots left. We excavated and removed the roots, then added a gravel base. The customer was so happy that he walked around with bare feet on his new concrete. It added curb appeal and increased value to his home;"

This was a foundation for a greenhouse, so I did not select your only two choices. Buck was very timely and professional, as were the men who worked with him. He did everything we asked him to do--sloping the floor, putting a drain in the center, and moving some large cement blocks (about 3'X2' by 8" thick), that we could use as stepping stones.
