The roofers were very professional and did an excellent job with small details. The clean up was very well done and the crew worked hard to cover up landscaping as not to damage it.

I was highly impressed with the sales package of Southern Star Roofing and was excited when I signed the contract. Attention to the sale was paramount. After the signed contract, and being told that someone would be contacting me soon to set up the work. I waited a week without hearing anything before I made contact again. At that point, the work was set for the following day. I had to put a stop to the work shortly after it began because - even though the company put in writing to keep small children away from the work area at all times - the contractor thought it was appropriate to bring a 10 year old boy to help clean up. He was around the perimeter as debris was being thrown off of the roof. I was told by the owner that a new crew would be sent to finish, but the same crew was sent out. After they were done, there were several issues on the back of the house that needed to be fixed. Even after the 'fixing' the back of the house still has shingles that are not laying flat and looks like a ragged old roof. I am told that shingles need time in 80+ degree weather to settle, but no one wants to address the fact that the front of the house and the rear of the house do not look the same and that the shingles are only bowing up in some spots and looks so inconsistent it looks like an amateur threw up a few patches on an old roof rather than a professional company did a complete replacement job. The sales man even admitted to me that the shingles were butted up too tightly in some places and needed fixing, but the 'fix' only dealt with the worst of the issues that I saw and not all of the issues I still see. And, because I upgraded shingles, I will either have to pay heavily to have this looking right, or be reminded of shoddy workmanship every time I go into my back yard for the next 40 years. Update: After this review, I was contacted by Brandon - the owner of Southern Star Roofing and Construction. It took several weeks, but he came out with another of his contractors and agreed that the work that had been done was not up to their standards and replaced the entire back slope of the roof. He also had another contractor come out the next day and install gutter guards and replace a hole in my siding. I am much happier with the work that was done the third time around. I just wish it hadn't taken that long to get the project completed. Hopefully, there will be some better screening of sub-contractors in the future.

My husband and I wanted to take the time to tell you “Thank You” for being there for us when we really needed help the most. I still cannot believe that the day after we closed on our house the wind storm hit the area and ripped off a good portion of the shingles on the front of our roof. We didn’t even have a chance to get any furniture in the house and were faced with a major problem. The following day the winds were still bad and more shingles came off of the roof, tar paper was ripped and some of the shingles were even caught in our trees surrounding the house. You and your crew were the first ones to help us even before our Insurance Company would. Thanks to you we had temporary tarps to secure the roof and you even replaced a damaged boot free of charge. At that point in time we hadn’t even discussed any details or made any promises to go with your company but you stuck by us every step of the way and even helped out when the insurance adjuster had finally come out 3 weeks later. We were so pleased with the efficient and professional manner in which the roof was replaced by your crew. It only took 1 day and the color, texture, workmanship and cleanup was just short of amazing! We would highly recommend you and your crew to anyone needing a roofing repair or replacement. We were having major gutter overflow and needed to replace our gutters as soon as possible. I contacted Southern Star Construction and had a fast, great, easy experience from start to finish. Brandon was able to give me an estimate over the phone by simply texting him a few photo’s! His crew came out, was very professional, and got the job done quickly. My new gutters look great! I would absolutely recommend Southern Star and plan to hire them again.

Absolutely wonderful!!! HUGE thanks goes to these guys! Our roof was basically shot to make a long story short. With every phone call, email, text, etc I made/sent the response was very quick and very detailed. Everyone was really friendly and knowledgeable. Brandon the owner came out and did the quote for the roof and everything went just as he said. No delays or surprises. Which is a huge plus being I've been burned a few times from previous contractors in the past. They really know what they are doing and I would recommend them to anyone!! We have a few more projects and we will def use only them going forward. A+++
