We are very pleased with the company's work on our patio's roof. Abraham Sanchez the foreman/estimator went above beyond what was promised. A good deal, an excellently done job, only quality materials, and our big satisfaction. The Specialty Construction Company is the best choice for your flat (Modified Bitumen) roof.

The only reason i give 3.5 stars is the fact the the company knew we had Presidental Shake TL shingles (a good inch thick/finest shingle they offer) from day one and made reference to 75 sq ft of shingle replacement in their bid. When they came to do the job the had regular asphalt shingles. Which were unacceptable. Speaking with the company i found out that my shingle wasn't available in California. The company ended up reusing my exsisting shingles. Looking at the CertainTeed website even the California approved TL shake would have worked for the repais do to its location and visual exposure. To the company's plus they did work with us to modify the original contract to include an area where solar piping needed to go thru where the shingles had covered the pipes. While they were very professional and courteous, I found it surprising that the company did not deduct for the 3 bundles of Shingles that were included in the original bid. Seems they were duly enriched at my expense.

They communicate well and kept me informed of the schedule. They were prompt at the initial appointment. They sent pictures of the work after completion, I found that helpful.

Added more projects. Great work and he was on time and finished at the time he agreed upon.

They responded to me very quickly. I felt confident that the recommended repair to my roof was correct - another company that I got an estimate from said the same thing, but wanted to rope me into "roof maintenance" which was much, much more costly. They were able to come the next day and began the work early, finishing before noon. They were very courteous and knowledgeable.

W got off to a rocky start because the job was postponed twice and the worker arrived 30 minutes later than the window of time that the company established. When I expressed my frustration about these things to the owner his replies were, "I've been working since 6:00 AM", "I'm not perfect", and "We don't need to have this discussion". Being the one writing the check at the end of the day (as well as being in a Service Industry myself) I would expect at least a nod to Customer Service from the owner. This in addition to the fact that they wouldn't agree to perform the stop gap measure of putting plastic on the roof (two rainstorms occurred between postponements) without a signed contract, despite the fact that I offered to pay for this service with a credit card over the phone. That said, the worker was friendly, cooperative, informative, reassuring, and very thorough; a definite asset to this company. The repair work is warranted for one year, so I may be dealing with this company again, though in the future I will be aware in advance that the Customer is not the Owner's priority.

This is 1 of the 22 paired homes in our community. Had 4 bids. Santiago addressed the owner's problem on the roof: wood rot. Bid was $150 higher, but included 5 yr warranty, replacement of wood panel, and written inspection report with pictures. The inspection report supported the subcommittee's recommendation to the HOA Board to approve the repair.

Very prompt and courteous. Work was completed in one day in a timely manner.
