We hired Scott to install a new french door to our deck, replace some trim around an interior window, replace 3 windows in the basement, and redo the dining room ceiling. The dining room ceiling was contracted out and is "acceptable", the window trim was done nicely, the french door he measured incorrectly and ended up having to cut out around the opening to get the door to fit. The trim and everything had to be redone because of this. The main problem was with the basement windows. He did a horrible job and just left things unfinished and thought it was acceptable. When questioned he said he thought we "would have a carpenter" finish things..........odd remark considering he is a carpenter we thought and why it would be left unfinished was ridiculous. My husband had to take the old windows and redo part of them to add to the new windows to make things work. Also, no flashing had been put on the windows and the stuff installed in place of the flashing was put in upside down!!! We had rain right after Scott did these windows and water just flowed in. When we questioned Scott it took him two days to respond. We told him we just wanted the window installation money back and he refused. Again, my husband redid the windows-took a few weekends but all is great now. We are still asking for the money back for the window installation but Scott will not reply. Not happy with this at all.

Scott received our call on a late Monday, and worked us in to his schedule on Tuesday, had our issue fixed within an hour, and quoted on our other electrical needs with honest value added suggestions that weren't expensive. All this for his minimum price, which I found to be very fair.

Scott was so thorough and explained the problem and possible fixes to me. He was punctual, professional. and his fee was reasonable. Worth every penny! Although he was not able to fix my hot tub, he gave me all the information I need to decide if it is worth it or not. So if I do choose to fix it, I can make an informed judgment about the skills of the person I hire. Not only would I highly recommend him, but I just found myself a trustworthy electrician who I will use in the future.

He answered the request immediately. Clean, professional, gentleman. Came in for a simple look at a kitchen fixture and told us the age of our wiring was a true fire/safety hazard. Fixed the initial problem for us that day- extremely reasonable price. Many electricians could have fixed the fixture and left but he took the time to educate us of the problems inherent with homes our age without sales pressure. When we decided to move forward, he was our man for the job. Since then he has worked hard to save us money and always gives us at least two options of moving forward at each crossroad rather then always taking the most expensive path.

Stecklein Electric, what can one truly say about the high caliber of work that, despite all odds and all obstacles that an Eisenhower era home can throw at one man, was accomplished in a matter of hours. It was only a few days ago when the ubiquitous four walled dungeon that I once called a living room, a term that was used very loosely, was shrouded in relative darkness. That was before Scott from Stecklein Electric came barnstorming in with one goal and one goal only, to turn a seemingly endless money pit I once called a house into what I now call a home for a monetary fee which lets future home enhancement be realized.
