St. Croix Pools turned our dream pool build into an absolute NIGHTMARE! We started this adventure in April 2020 and the plans that were presented were beautiful. We met Mark and Leslie and they seemed personable and easy to work with, we researched the company and it had rave reviews, so we excitedly signed the contract. We had not even broke ground when the problems started. The first (of many) delays was because St. Croix did not apply for the proper permits for our area. Then our pool FAILED the first city inspection not once, not twice, but three times. We had not even reached the shotcrete phase in the build and our frustrations were bubbling over. When I contacted Mark about the failed inspections and the delays each one caused, I was told I needed to, learn to manage [my] expectations. As the build went on, so did the problems, and at each step in the process, we were back on the phone reporting more and more issues to Mark, the waterline tile that had to be chipped off and redone, the pool failed the plumbing and electrical inspections, the coping had to be busted up and replaced several times, PVC pipe in the scuppers was left visible, siding on our house was damaged, etc. We only saw the project manager a handful of times and for only minutes each time. Bottom line, there was NOBODY DOING QUALITY CONTROL ON A POOL WE PAID OVER $60K FOR. The pool was completed at the end of July 2020 and took twice as long to build it as was promised. We have been in touch with Mark regarding issues that have come up since it was completed. In November, I sent an email to him outlining all the problems with the pool and was told that they would put us on the schedule, it never happened. In January, my husband started calling Mark weekly to find out when we could expect these warranty items to be repaired, each time he was told they would get to us soon, and we would be ignored for another week. Now, in April, we have found out (by seeking advice from another company in almost 6 months, St. Croix still has not touched one item on the list we sent) that the pool will need to be replastered because of issues that we brought to Mark attention before the plaster was originally done. That is another $6K - $8K that we are going to have to pay another company to fix these problems because Mark Mills refuses honor his warranties. Do not buy into what St. Croix Pools is selling like we did, find another company to build your dream.
