They did not do what they said they were going to do. The original problem that I have before hiring them still exist. They supposed to have channeled the water away from the foundation but instead, they put a rain spout that ends on the foundation of the house. I called them back three times already because of poor workmanship. The tiles they laid on my patio are loose and told them that they sound hollow when you walk on them. They said it will hold and will not come off but they are already coming loose. There was no walkthrough when the project was completed.

The company was prompt. They kept me updated on the status of my install.

I really wanted this experience to be a good one and was very hopeful after reading reviews and looking at rating on multiple sites. Unfortunately, the whole experience ended up being more of a hassle than anything else and a disappointment since the project manager and designer ended up being a lot of the problem. All very nice people and everyone tells you what you want to hear but the actions to do not follow the words. A project that was estimated to take 7.5 - 9.5 weeks ended up taking 14 weeks to complete (after almost 3 weeks of no work in the middle) and is only complete now because I had to stay on top of everyone every single day and take leave from work to babysit the workers and make sure they actually did the work. Multiple problems throughout construction because the designer didn't measure correctly, didn't know that when you put in 12 feet of windows, you need stronger headers, ordered the wrong sizes of items (3 different cabinets, 2 of which they completely destroyed and threw in the dumpster), didn't order enough of some items (hardware) , didn't order some products at all (ledger stone, back-splash) until very late in the process and almost caused even more of a delay if I hadn't intervened and worked with the companies. They bring in people to do the work that either don't know or don't care about the work they are doing (installed 9 feet of windows crooked by almost 2 inches, spilled stain on new blue stone hearth and tried to "fix" by putting paint thinner on it, dumpster placed w/o wood under the rollers, dry wall installers that covered over lights, vents, numerous wires and cables, no regulator installed on gas line). From the very beginning, I told everyone that I wanted communications, updates, status reports either by phone, text, email or in person and if they kept me in the loop, I wouldn't end up bothering them. I got nothing. I either had to call, text, and email the project manager or wait for him to show up to actually have a conversation with him. The designer responded to emails with one word responses. In the end, I would receive an email from the project manager, respond with question and receive no response. In the beginning of this project I recommended Starcom to 3 different people looking to get work done. 1 contacted the company, waited several weeks for the designer to get back to her and then went with another company because of the price and communications issues and the other two I have changed my recommendation to a NO. All very frustrating and a big disappointment.

Starcom Design Build Corp developed and presented us with a contract to defraud us, that we signed in good faith! They are now trying to charge us double for scope/work that was priced and included in the original contract. It appears that they have defrauded other Maryland homeowners using similar tactics as evident by the reviews on the internet.

great communication, wonderful work

The final product is excellent. I had been told that it was "an 8 day project," and I initially expected it to be done in 8 days. It took six weeks, which was a tad disconcerting, until I learned from other people that contractors work for one day, do other jobs for several days, then come back to continue YOUR project for a day or two, etc., until, in the end, they worked about 10 days over a 6 week period. Now that I understand this, I would plan differently were I to have another project done. The end result is WONDERFUL, and well worth the time it took.

Maybe because of the time of year to install a fence around my yard but work started in Nov 2017 and still needs to be completed with a finish and stain.

Brian did an excellent job on repairing and power washing my deck. The only downside is that small jobs come last and the time between hiring and completing the job took longer than I had hoped. Nonetheless, the work performed was great and I would recommend hiring Starcom to others who are interested getting a good company to do home improvement projects.

Brian at Starcom made my deck extension happen in a time crunch. My current deck does not suite the yard and so we opened the deck up. It required taking down a retaining wall, underground sprinkler interaction and then a 12 x 16 extension. These guys did a great job. Starcom did an excellent job power washing the exterior of our house. We are very pleased with the work.

Starcom redecked my deck and did a fine job. Brian stayed in touch and make sure I knew the schedule for staining and house power washing.

Brian's work ethic and attitude was marvelous. He volunteered to do a few extra issues I had a no charge, just because he CARED! Extraordinary customer service.

They did a good job.

Brian called us within an hour of placing our request for a Pro. He was able to come out, at our convenience, for an estimate the next day. At first, I thought the estimate was a bit high, but not anymore. He did the job on a Sunday since we needed it done quickly and we certainly got our monies worth. Not only did he power wash the areas we requested, but he cleaned things we had never even thought could be power washed. We asked him to do a patio, stairs, and veranda, but got that PLUS our patio furniture (which now looks brand new at 20-years old), our window and door frames, and fascia. We WILL use him again and highly recommend him to other Home Advisor customers. He worked hard the entire day and was more meticulous about his results than we were. We were prepping our house to sell and he saved us days of time and labor. Thank you Starcom and Home Advisor.

Great job cleaning our house, privacy fence, deck--and even deck furniture that we thought was toast! All looked brand new after the cleaning. Bryan was also a pleasure to work with, and we appreciated his high standards in completing the work.

Starcom Design and Build representative was fair and he worked hard to complete the job in a timely fashion despite the rainy weather. His product and color recommendations were on point. My deck and fence looks beautiful.

In addition to power washing the deck, Starcom also stained and sealed my deck and fence. This project was beautifully done. My deck and fence looks new and the color fits well with the exterior of my house and surroundings. The project was completed within a reasonable amount of time even though the weather was not always cooperative. I would highly recommend this company to others. Renee W J

Our deck has never looked better. Five star service all the way. On time with the estimate, the work and even the call back. Some stain accidentally seep through to the patio below and the next day it was removed. When Bryan cleaned the house and deck, he included a trellis, our front walk and a patio with no extra charge. Very happy.

We reached out to Starcom when we were considering adding a second story to our house. Bill Miner and his project partner took a lot of time to carefully look at our house and explain the challenges associated with such a project. We opted to stick with a single level, and had them replace our roof instead. Even on that comparatively small and inexpensive project, Bill spent a lot of time discussing shingle options with us. Most importantly, his team redesigned elements of the roof to divert water away from trouble spots -- solving our persistent leak. We will definitely consider Starcom for future home projects.

Bill and David worked together to fix another companies mistakes made to our remodeled basement bathroom. I would definitely hire this company again without hesitation!!
