Buyer BEWARE. They will take your money and run. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. They (Steve L. and Daniel B.) asked to be paid in full up front in SEPTEMBER. They stated the job would be complete in 4-6 weeks and did not even start pouring the concrete until November. Daniel contacted me to tell me he had changed the stamp (large Texas star) I requested to something else because he did not like it. IT WAS NOT FOR HIM TO LIKE OR DECIDE. They repeatedly missed appointments and timelines. Once they started the job, the workmanship was TERRIBLE. When I asked them to fix what little they had done, they asked for more money because it was a lot of work. (Never mind the fact that the contract states customer satisfaction guaranteed). I caught workers sleeping on my back porch, they caused damages to my property and items were taken from my property. They dumped piles of concrete on my property then just stopped coming. They took my money and ran. Shut down operations at the office at which I saw them. Daniel B has been on â 10 most wantedâ multiple times. This company has NUMEROUS deceptive business practices lawsuits against them. Hire at your own risk .

They cannot be trusted and they have no integrity, they gained my trust and they are good talkers. I am military personnel and unfortunately was persuaded to work with this business, I believe the reviews on this site are from family and not legit customers. The only work that the business showed was the pictures from inside the office they did not have a business portfolio so that appeared to be fishy. I paid them (Daisy and Daniel) in Dec and they first arrived in Feb to start the work to lay concrete and removed grass but they had two pallets to use for the floor of the shed they moved and damaged the pallets and damaged the rock wall connecting to my neighbor. they were supposed to build a shed and extend the patio and put down turf grass and add a car port and gate that connect to the side of the house. They laid a frame for concrete and the work was completely unprofessional they had no diagrams or references for dimensions and measurements. They used more concrete then they needed. There was more concrete work that was needed and they were supposed to come back to complete the project. I have been contacting him daily and this has been going on since Feb. I paid them $13,800.00. He asked for an additional $3,000.00 in Feb and now that I think of it why did he need more when he had 13 thousand and never did anything and sill I gave more money. I believe he is a professional con artist. He told my husband in March that the prices went up for project materials, but this was already established in a contract and the price increase should not have be relevant.

I have never been so disappointed by any business as much as I have by this one. I have been trying to get my project completed since September and there is always some excuse. The project was the remodeling of 2 bathrooms, reframing, and replacement of the back door, and painting of the master bedroom. So far, the only part of this project that has been fully completed is the painting of the master bedroom. Workmanship has been poor. I have been yelled at, lied to, and cussed at. Shower #1 still leaks water onto the floor and the window still will not close. Bathroom #2 was not the colors requested I was told that the tile installed was more expensive than what was requested with no offer to make it right), no plumbing connected to the vanity, a section of baseboard missing, the shower does not drain properly, mirror and medicine cabinet missing and electrical not completed. The back door has still not been touched. I have tried to call and texted several times on days when I was told someone would be here with little response such as a curt reply such as **I will be there as soon as I can** or **You know I am busy** or even **They will be there before Friday to complete I have had enough and I will not answer you anymore. I told you Friday**. This was earlier this week after I had been calling and texting all day with no response. I worked with Danny B. who has to be the worst and also is associated with another local contacting business which let me in touch with another company who I'm not happy with. Update 3/31/21: they have completed the work inside the house. Although the colors are not what I ordered, they work. Cleanup outside is to be completed today. They folks that have been coming out lately have been great (Manny and Mike). The final results are acceptable. Thank you to the folks at HomeAdvisor (Gina) for following up on this. I will update when cleanup has been completed.

After receiving quotes from several companies, I awarded a bid to pour a concrete driveway to State of the Art Custom Designs. The quote was competitive, I was told they could start immediately, and that the work would only take a few days. From start to finish, there were delays when the work would stop for several days. Unfortunately, I needed to call the company repeatedly, sometimes daily, to keep the project moving. I would get promises that were frequently broken. After the concrete had been poured, I was told some quality issues would be fixed. They never were. There are a few places that are not level, areas where water stands, and there is a crack in one of the slabs. Overall, the quality of the work was okay but not great. My job, that I was told would take a few days, took almost a month. I am an unsatisfied customer.

Hired to do a job and were now 4 months out from our contract signing and the work has barely begun. We just keep getting excuse after excuse.

Hired state of the art to remodel my bathroom. -- My wife is going to end up in a wheelchair permanently so needed it to be handicapped accessible. Paid them in August or Sept. 2020,because they insisted on full payment of 7000 dollars upfront before they would start working. Each month they gave a new excuse about why work could not start. About 4 or 5 months ago they sent us along with one of their employees to choose out tiles. I took a day off from work, and took care of their request. They did not purchase the materials and according to them, the store ran out , causing us to go back and reselect tiles once again. They started working on January 14, 2021, and the job was supposed to take 14 days. It is now Feb 8th, 2021 and the job is maybe half done. State of the Art apparently subcontracted out the job. The employees of the subcontractor, keeps asking my wife for the material and directions on how to proceed. (How is my wife to know anything about the location of the material which we paid state of the art to procure?) A big shot from state of the art is now at my my home talking to my wife.

It is just weird. They took the broken tile and stucco off ,and there is a pile of debris on the side of the driveway and that is it. I have not seen or heard from them in a week and a half.

I hired them to build a 12 foot custom window seat/bench with storage, and they delivered a really great end product. I knocked half a point because it took them a few weeks longer than originally promised to finish the project, but with the pandemic going on and some other issues on their end, it was not too egregious. The bench was done beautifully once the communication issues were sorted out, and we feel that it was great value for the price. We plan to hire them again for a couple of future projects.

We were contracted to complete work in mid Oct. The work is still not completed going into Dec. We have been given several excuses, measured several times, cabinets and counters were not measured correctly, there was no design sketch provided nor size and type of cabinets we were receiving. We have a gap between wall and cabinets in kitchen next to our hallway. The height is incorrect between lowers and upper cabinets. They drank alcohol during their lunch breaks while on my property, they did not use correct hinges and shelves were not installed level. The paint color was not what I ordered either. I am requesting a refund and for them to remove everything and they are not accepting responsibility and refusing to remove the products.

I have no complaints with the workers, but the boss does not stay around to make sure things are done right. The boss talks a good game, he says that he can do everything I asked but at the end of the day not one of those things have been done.

Customer Service Review: Planned Project: Auxiliary Dwelling for In Laws and Interior Loft for Main Home Currently in Planning Stage since October 12, 2020 Review Date 11/2/2020 I selected State of the Art Construction based upon the positive reviews from other customers listed on Home Advisor. 05/14/2021 Update Our project is 7 months out and is not complete at all, not even close. We signed a contract on October 12, 2020. We made our payments through Home Advisor Pro. Dan Salas Barajas has been the person with whom my husband and I have interacted the most. His wife, Daisy Leoas, is listed on the contract and as the owner of the company currently. So far we have been given excuse after excuse as to why our project keeps getting delayed. First, it was a zoning variance issue, then it was a permit issue, then it was a staff issue, etc. I do not recommend this company. I had to continually contact the city myself to check on the status of permits when I could not get hold of Dan. Communication is poor and sporadic and Dan continuously promised me many things that he never delivered upon. This has been the worst experience. Now, we are out of money and have nothing to show for it.

They were very professional. Very nice in dealing with me. They understoid the situatiin and explained it to me. They were very compassionate about my situation and i know they serve the community with caring and understanding. I liked them and hope to use their service again in the future.
