Avoid! I was given a two hour window for the second repair visit, and I stayed home to wait. A half hour past the window, no show, no call. I texted to ask when to expect him, and a half hour after that, was told only ?running late.? The same thing happened two hours later. Finally, I got a text saying he couldn?t come that day, and had to reschedule 5 days later. He has no respect for your time, and is really lacking in scheduling and communication.

Horrible experience. Home Depot uses them for warranty repairs. Took them almost a month to initially show up after 8 no shows and rescheduling, then once they did, they took my dishwasher to repair it. Never saw it again. Was told a week later by Home Depot they botched the repairs and it could no longer be fixed and had to issue me a partial refund. Had to file a complaint with the better business bureau and still couldn't get my machine back they took from me. I wouldn't let these people work on a bicycle. What a joke.

I contacted Ted on Wednesday and oven was fixed the next day, well in time for Thanksgiving.

I recently hired Ted, the owner and operator of Steel City Appliance Repair to repair my washing machine. It was a nightmare from start to finish. First, he showed up over an hour late without even a courtesy call. When he finally arrived, he seemed rushed and uninterested in the job at hand. Despite my detailed explanation of the issues, he didnâ t take the time to really listen. He swore he knew exactly what the issue was without even taking the time to properly diagnose it. I felt rushed and dismissed, and he was clearly more interested in getting the job done quickly than ensuring it was done right. He replaced a part that didnâ t need to be replaced and left without fixing the actual issue. Now, my washing machine is worse than before! After he botched the job on my washing machine, he promised a refund for the shoddy work. However, he ghosted me for several days afterward! I tried reaching out multiple times via text, and he didnâ t respond at all. Only after threats to dispute it with the credit card company, leave negative reviews, and take it up with the Better Business Bureau, he finally agreed to provide a refund. When he finally did provide a refund, it was for the part and not the labor. Again, he hadnâ t taken the time to diagnose the issue, so why should I pay him to replace a part that didnâ t need to be replaced? His lack of professionalism and courtesy was mind-blowing. To top it off, he was rude and dismissive when I asked questions. I expected professionalism and expertise based on previous reviews. Instead, I got a half-hearted attempt and a hefty bill for a problem thatâ s still not resolved. I wouldn't recommend Steel City Appliances to anyone - do yourself a favor and find a technician who actually cares about their work! This experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

The repair person was careful of health protocols and careful in his work. Diagnosis of problem was difficult but was completed in a timely manor. I will call him again for other repairs of appliances

Ted was amazingly friendly and competent! He had to order parts but as soon as they arrived, he was right back at it. Gets in and out and cleans up any mess. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family!

I would let others know that they accepted my repair job without the appropriate knowledge of a Maytag microwave. Parts were broken in the process and I was not informed of this. Had they had appropriate knowledge of the appliance, the plastic retaining clips would not have been broken.

Doug, had to order a factor part. I appreciated that he didn't just replace with a generic part. It took a few days for part to arrive but worth it since it came with s warranty.

Ted actually answered his phone on a Saturday evening! We made an appointment and he showed up on time and was knowledgeable, professional and very clean. Had an awesome experience with him and would definitely recommend.

new ice maker was slow to start - not Ted's fault, probably related to the electronics? Once it started making ice, all good. Was concerned that it took more than a day to start harvesting ice, though. (Whirlpool reforge/freezer). Ted made good use of technical service support to diagnose and fix the problem.

Prompt service. My dishwasher was fixed and the problem was explained to me. I m very pleased with the service provided.
