Very professional and efficient

I used Stephen at Anchor Home Inspections for my home purchase. I was a first time homebuyer, so obviously this was a major purchase for me. I wanted to make sure I hired a company that was meticulous in their inspections, as I did not want to purchase a home that was going to be a costly investment for me down the road. Stephen showed up on time, was very thorough with his inspection, and delivered me the report the same day. Would absolutely recommend anchor to anyone, and will use them for my next home purchase.

This was my first home. Stephen was super patient and very helpful explaining everything with an eye for detail. I feel even better about my purchase because of him. Will definitely hire again for my next home.

Do NOT hire this company if you value integrity and good service, the owner, Stephen Smarowsky, proved himself as unethical, unprofessional and a liar. We hired him for a four-point home inspection for $125 - he showed up an hour early (which due to our schedules, was actually an inconvenience), could not even bother to wipe his feet when entering our home and made a huge mess. More importantly, when we got the report the following day it stated that our roof was 32 years old when it had been completely replaced in 2005. My husband contacted him immediately after he saw this and sent him the building permit (which he should have been able to find quite easily in public records had he looked) and offered to send the receipt and he got back a response that it had been received, then crickets, nothing. We both made calls with no response and sent emails with no response until I stated we would be reviewing his services truthfully . We asked that he correct his mistake and his response was just nasty and he said we would need to pay him additional fee for him to correct his mistake! Then he went on to say that Home Advisor would take down our review based on guidelines, I am not sure what that means exactly, but I interpret it as I did a job within some arbitrary guidelines and no matter how bad that job was done it does not matter as I have fulfilled my duty with no regard to being professional or ethical. He told me to calm my nerves and that my opinion did not matter. After several emails and after we had hired another company (I believe he knew this and was trying to hold us up intentionally), he said he would correct and send, again, crickets. I knew by this point he was not ethical or honorable so followed through with the new inspection which was completed on time, promptly, thoroughly and professionally; yes, a couple of minor items were found that were not found/noted by Anchor/Smarowsky, they (the second inspection service we had to hire will have our business from now on for all our inspection needs and we will recommend them to everyone we know. Additionally, they also told us that it was not even a standard four point inspection report he had used - they reviewed it for us free of charge, as well; they found the permit while on the intake call and were a pleasure to work with). He held us up for a week with the possibility of not getting home insurance on time; this guy is such a jerk (I am being nice)! It would have taken him but a few minutes at best to correct the report, but he chose to initially ignore us, then argue with us via email (he never responded to phone messages), and then lied to us about correcting and sending us the report, he just wasted our time and took our money!!! This is all on him, and reflects his unprofessional behavior, lack of character, and unethical practices. I would bet that the majority of the good reviews are from family and friends that he solicits to write them-look into it Home Advisor. There is no logical explanation that I can fathom for a business owner to be so unethical. Maybe he just thinks four-point inspections are just easy money and when he messes up just doesnâ t care, your guess is as good as mine, but it is a reflection on him, not us-we just made the huge mistake of hiring him and initially believing that a business owner would do the right thing and correct their mistake. Stephen arrived on time and got to work right away. He was friendly, professional, and thorough. He explained the process and asked if I had any questions. I received a 10-page report via email.

What started as a great home inspector- turned to shit. After reaching out about payment issues with my credit card processor I was charged twice for my inspection. The owner told me he would take care of the double charge and then has not responded to calls or emails since July 19. On top of that, I only received 2/3 inspection reports that I paid for. I have been unable to get in touch with them since the completion of July 19 about the double charge or the status of my lead inspection. I ended up having to have a fraud complaint processed by my credit card company

Prompt complete and thorough and met my expectations

Stephen was prompt, professional and pleasant. This inspection was done for a wind mitigation report; the inspection was done in the morning and the report was emailed to us that evening. This was for an "Inspection". Appraisal. was the category that came closest to the services rendered so I used it. Anchor's representative was the first to call me within 20 minutes after my posting. His price was reasonable and his hours were flexible so I had no problem scheduling a convenient time. There rep was polite and on time and I got my report the following day. I would highly recommend this company.

The owner of the company Stephen S talked a good talk but was totally unprofessional. Did not provide the report on the proper form that was contracted to be submitted to citizens. He took our money and then went dark on us. When we asked him to revise it on the proper form. I would not recommend this company.

Stephen was incredibly prompt and personally handled my house inspection. I had 2 days and followed up with a mold inspection within the first day meeting by 5 day home inspection criteria in the contract. Very professional, very thorough, great personality.

This company did what they said the would in a vary professional way. The tech that inspected my home is extremely knowledgeable and sure footed. I would recommend the company to my mom
