Electrical Switches, Outlets & Fixtures Install or Repair
I hired Joseph to install an outside porch fan with dimmable fan speed and dimmable lights. I asked him to select a switch for it as well as 2 GFCI outlets. On the day of the installation he came with the switch but not the GFCI outlets. He installed my fan (while I ran to both Home Depot and an electric store to get the GFCIs, box and face plate). Approximately 1 year after the installation of the switch I went to turn the fan off and the LED lights began blinking, indicating errors. After turning the fan off, nothing worked, the switch had failed. I called the manufacturer and I was told all of their dimmers are not rated for damp applications due to outdoor humidity levels. I had to pay another pro $120 to install the correct dimmer, which was a remote control wall device.

Electrical for Home Addition or Remodel Installation
We interviewed Joe and went over the scope of work in detail. After consideration we revised the scope of work and had him come out again to bid. We sent him an email with a detailed scope of job. We reviewed in person the revised scope of the job. He bid and we accepted. The day he came out to start the job he more than doubled his price and claimed he new nothing of the revised scope of job. I have emails and text messages supporting that he knew and understood the revised scope. We fired him and found someone else to do the job cheaper. Interestingly too, he tried to convince us not to upgrade to 200 amp service. When we told him we wanted to upgrade he admitted he no longer did upgrades to 200 amps and that is why he advised against it. Not a man of character or integrity.
Response from Sterk, LLC
"Can someone call me? you can see they had me out in the summer now at the end of the year. Because it went from a kitchen to the whole house! Yes, a big price jump. I have had nothing but TOP comments on me, I take pride in my work over 30 years with no one saying one bad thing. They try to pull a fast one with her boyfriend giving me some information, not all of it. Yes, she sent me emails that I did not see, I don't use that much, text and calls. No written contract just like I always do verbal handshake I'm 64, that's how it was done. Please call me get this one person comment off my review thanks!!"
