Stortz Firewood & Mulch

I asked for a price quote only. The two men showed up with a small lift truck that could only fit 9 yds3 - 10 yds3. They told me that there were 18yds3 with them in this small load truck. They quoted me $1800for them to spread it out in my beds. When I informed them I was not interested in their price I got a sad sob story about how they drove 2 hrs and they have to get something from doing this. So I gave them $60 cash for gas because of the sad sob story about how I am putting them out. Then he said he would do it for $1600 I then said no. Then he was very pushy again and said how they could just drop what they had in small piles around my yard and not spread them out and he would only charge me $1000. I worked for a landscaping company for yrs. These gentlemen were very pushy with me and every time I said no they came back with a cheaper price. I told them I did not even have the money on me and they preceded to tell me they had no problem with waiting for me to go to the bank so they could get paid. When I said I cannot even get that out of the bank because its closed because its a holiday then they told me to go get what you can and mail us a check for the rest. I then said no again. They then said well we have to make something we will dump it for $900. I said no again. They only left after my husband came out of my home and asked them to leave. These men made me feel very uneasy. I have never been treated like this by any professional in my life. I would not recommend them to anyone. You do not make someone feel bad for something you did on your own without asking the homeowner and getting confirmation about bring products to do a job you have not even given a quote for first. I spoke to the owner over the phone several times and never once did he say anything to me about bringing anything with him. In my opinion, they were extremely overpriced and very sales pushy. It did not seem like they respected my response as no and did not leave until my husband came out to ask them to leave. It made me feel like because I am a woman that how I felt about saying I was not interested did not matter and it is sad to me that after 4 times of being told we did not agree with their pricing and only when a man came out did they leave. Makes me wonder how this would have gone if my husband had not been home at the time of them being here. Do not hire these guys. I do not recommend them at all.

Great guys, got the job done well and quickly. If we werenâ t moving weâ d work with them on a lot more projects!
