Brian is a perfectionist. He painted every inch of the outside of our home - even the gutters. He was helpful in advising on colors. Our new puppy adored him and misses him coming by each day and sharing his lunch with her. Brian also stained our old deck and it looks like new. We highly recommend him.

We are really happy with the new color of our house. Brian did the work by himself and got a lot done in a short amount of time. Brian also gives warranty on his work, and the peace of mind that he will help with any issues that may appear with the paint job. While painting our home, Brian was able to witness damage done to our property by other contractors working on a separate job. Without his help, I'm not sure if we would have been able to prove that the damages we're not our responsibility. We are really grateful to him for his support. The compliments from neighbors and friends on our paint job still haven't stopped.

The work was excellent. The cleanup left a great deal to be desired.

I was extremely please with the interior painting Brian did for me. He was very helpful picking out the right colors for my house. He was very meticulous with his work and clean up. He has a great personality and is very personable. I have recently hired him to do another job. I highly recommend Brian!

Brian removed popcorn ceilings from 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, a hallway, and the living room. It is a tough job!!! He worked very hard and made sure it was done perfectly. It took over a week because he works alone, but it is worth it because he makes sure everything is done with care and quality. He made great efforts to clean up all the popcorn dust, which is not easy. I still had to clean a bit, but he made it much better by being so careful and neat in his work. Also, I trusted him and was able to have him work while I was not home. This is a great asset.

I find it hard to believe some of the other reviews that I have read on this painter, Brian Castro. I do not feel a "professional" would do , or not do some of the things he did. As in some of the other reviews I found him to be somewhat argumentative. You need to tell him what YOU want him to do and be very stern about it otherwise he will try to tell you to do something different. Also be sure to put every single thing you want him to do clearly in writing. I had great concerns about peeling paint on an asbestos shingled house, and paint that was peeling on the porch. I SPECIFICALLY asked him how he would be able to make sure it was properly taken care of so it would look good and not peel again. His answer was "IT'S MAGIC." Not the most professional answer but I that point I thought perhaps I was worrying too much and he was trying to lighten things up so I trusted he knew how to do things correctly. I realize you can not scrape asbestos shingles too much but I don't think he made an effort to make them look good at all. There was an area that I had repaired that was imperfect but I do not hold him responsible for that particular area. I'm speaking of everything else. When I expressed my concern about being able to see large circles where the paint was chipped through his paint job his response was "Well do you expect me to scrape everything?" Well yes I think I did. There are several wooden areas that he did not bother to scrape. I already have areas that are bubbling up on my front steps because he did not properly scrape the old paint!! He hyped up how well he could repair areas around windows with bondo so they would look GREAT. I did see one window, the most obvious one when you enter the house that he somewhat fixed but as far as I can tell now he never bothered to repair the others. His clean up was minimal. The last time I had my house painted the Professional that did it put down tarps to catch most of the paint scrapings for easy clean up. All of the paint that Brain Castro took off of the eaves just fell everywhere and was left. It took me an entire day to clean up. He worked on a lower porch roof while he scraped some of the eaves and left a mess of paint scrapings on my porch roof. I had to climb out of my window with a LEAF BLOWER to clean the roof off! The worst thing of all is he WASHED OUT HIS PAINT BRUSHES ON MY LAWN AND DUMPED THE PAINT WATER IN THE GRASS. I made a comment to him about this but he continued to do it daily. I have large brown circles in the grass from him dumping paint water, not to mention that he was dumping hazardous waste into the yard. Totally unacceptable. I have pictures of all of my complaints if anyone needs to see how this work was done. Maybe he needs to stick to interior painting, or maybe he doesn't put as much effort into small jobs. This was an 850 sq. ft. house. He worked alone and it took 9 days.

The written quote was considerably lower than several others, but in line with what HA stated, so we went with them. The quote was quite detailed. They did everything exactly per the quote, which was exactly what we wanted. Brian worked extremely hard, late every day. He sprayed some areas three coats to make them look perfect...in fact, the whole house came out beautiful. We have absolutely no complaints. We were a little hesitant at first, as we had never hired a contractor before, but I would say you can hire this outfit with confidence. It looks like a new house!

Positives: Brian knows his job. He's thorough with the painting and I am very much satisfied with the quality of his painting work. As a new homeowner we did not have a good idea of color schemes and Brian took his time helping us pick out appropriate colors, explaining how they would contrast, blend in etc. He prevented us from going in the wrong direction and at the end of the day we like the interior color of the home. That's very important. So much for the positives Negatives: Brian scratched our brand new hardwood floors very very heavily in the living room when he moved the china cabinet. As someone who prides himself on 30 years + experience he had no idea how furniture interacts with hardwood floor. The scratches are VERY deep and will take 1000 dollars or so to fully sand and refinish. The worst part was he denied the whole thing AND he dragged his ladder all over the hardwood floor to show that it did not scratch. He is EXTREMELY temperamental and often speaks in rude tones for no reason. He was more often than not rude with my old parents, whose English is not very good; and he was rude several times with my wife because she wanted to find out if he could do some additonal small touch-ups. I mean we would gladly pay anything extra for that extra effort but he started boasting that even if we offered him a 1000 dollars of 10000 dollars he would not do 1 inch more than we agreed upon. I mean, you may be excellent at what you do but that does not warrant arrogance and nastiness towards your customers. Though I am satisfied with the quality of his paint job, he has an unpredictable, often arrogant attitude that prevents me from (a) employing his services again (b) recommending to anyone with anything less than a thick enough skin to withstand his insults and hollering.

The painting job was very good & Brian is very meticulous & takes pride in his work. Downside...took 2 & a half weeks to paint 5 rooms. Was sometimes very loud on his phone while I was working. He works by himself, but could get more done with helpers & taking less breaks. Update: in less than 2 months the doors, cabinets & drawers that were painted are all peeling. Very upset as I will have to have some else sand & repaint correctly

Brian is very meticulous and attacks every problem area until as perfect as it can be. He is very professional and knowledgeable and I loved the outcome.

Brian did an excellent job and I would highly recommend him. Had an old basement that needed a refresh. He was prompt in coming over for an estimate, gave me a few options to consider, not pushy, etc... He worked hard, was detailed, masked off things well, communicated well, etc.. Job came out excellent. I would hire him again without hesitation.

Brian did amazing job painting my house. He is neat and I never had to clean up after him. He was always on time, every time I called him even on the weekend he answered the phone and most importantly every time I changed my mind about the color or I asked him to do more he just did it and was very nice about everything! Brian is a very efficient, attention detail guy also very reliable delivered what was promised and more highly recommended as an interior painter especially if your kids have created some cosmetic challenges

Brian was extremely professional and pleasant. He painted the exterior of my cedar sided house which was dirty and peeling. He power washed it, scraped the peeling paint and did a meticulous job painting the siding and trim. He was very neat and left my house and property in excellent shape. Brian did a far better job than any previous painters I have hired, I would definitely hire Brian again for interior painting jobs. In fact I already have!
