Ovid and his crew did a great job replacing my windows! They were friendly, professional, and an all around pleasure to work with. My house presented a number of issues: windows that had been unevenly set, situated in an historic district, and in a planned community with strict-HOA rules on work hours. They took everything in stride and made sure to clear any proposed plans for the odder problems by me before implementation. They left every workspace as clean as they had found it. My new windows are Marvin Elevate windows and I love them. They are much better than the original windows both on noise reduction and heat transfer. Before, leaving the shades up while the sun was out had a greenhouse effect; the house heated up very quickly. With the new windows, I can leave the shades down or up with minimal heat impact. I also want to talk about a problem that I encountered, as what often sets a company apart is not how it acts when everything goes as planned but how it responds when an error has been made, and there was one large error on my job. (Even the best companies will make mistakes, as everyone is human, and we all make mistakes. But as long as a company addresses them quickly, there's usually no lasting issue). Sunshine Contracting's response was outstanding, showing how much they value the customer as well as how much pride they take in their work. As context, my house is in a historic district, subject to special building requirements. This is not immediately obvious because the house itself is relatively young and at the very edge of the historic district. For that reason, I always notify contractors upfront about the requirements and I did so here as well. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication sometime after the contract had been signed, and the installers were unaware of the earlier communications on the city's requirements. This error was only discovered after they had done nearly a day's work. Once it was identified, Noe (who schedules/manages installation teams) immediately took responsibility for the company's error and presented a plan on how to fix it. The fix was expensive, requiring more labor, additional materials, and a delay while the necessary permit was obtained. He assured me that the company would cover the costs, as the error had been on their end. With his response, he preemptively answered every question and eased every concern that I had. Though the job took a lot longer to complete than expected (city's permit review took over a month), I am impressed by the company's response and work ethic, and very happy with the windows as finally installed.
