Superior Welding and Fabrication and I came to an agreement they would replace my existing gate posts and rehang my existing gate with a new automatic gate opener on September 25. They came to do the work on October 20. The good news – the automatic gate works. The bad news – the quality of the work was quite substandard and follow-up promises have not been kept. The non-supporting gate post should have been 4 ½” inward and 7 inches closer to the supporting gate post. (In the picture you’ll notice I tacked on another board and added barb wire to fill part of the gap.) There is a 7 ½” gap between the gate to the non-supporting gate post. Additionally, on the supporting gate post, the anchoring bolts for holding the gate were not screwed in completely. They should have been screwed in an additional inch. (I speculate they weren’t screwed all the way in completely so the gap at the other end wouldn’t be 8 ½”). Measurements were off when the gate posts were put in and then couldn’t be adjusted after they were put in concrete. The new gate opener they brought was missing a bracket so they used the bracket from my old gate opener. The bolts were missing too. The bolts that were used were 1 ¾” too long. They didn’t cut them down. That looks pretty bad. The new gate opener was missing a solar panel so they used the solar panel from my old gate opener. I believe the wire was too short on the old solar panel so they had to mount the old solar panel “whopper jawed”. It too looks pretty bad. After all that, here comes the straw that broke the camel’s back. At the time of installation, they forgot to bring the 2nd remote control. I was told on the day of installation (10/20) they would mail it to me. 40 days later, after 18 text messages and one phone call, I have an abundance of promises made and an equal number of promises not kept. OUR EXPERIENCES WITH THIS ONE PERSON COMPANY OWNED BY MIKE HUMPHRIES TOGETHER WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND AMANDA PAYNE, WHICH ACTUALLY WAS THE ONE WHO GAVE A REVIEW OF THEIR OWN BUSINESS 6 MOS. AGO WAS A TOTAL NIGHTMARE.WE HAVE NOT ENCOUNTERED SUCH A BAD, UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE /WORK BEFORE BUT SUPERIOR WELDING & FABRICATION HAD PROVEN THAT THEY ARE NOT COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE AND HAS NO STANDARD OF INTEGRITY , HONESTY AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY IN CONTRAST TO WHAT WAS WRITTEN IN THEIR WEBSITE.JULY 06, 2021 WE GAVE A DEPOSIT OF $2,200 TO MR.HUMPHRIES , WITH THE AGREEMENT HE WILL CALL US AND LET US KNOW THE FINAL COPY OF THE DESIGN AND DATE OF INSTALLATION. THE FOLLWING DAY JULY 07 , THE CHECK WE ISSUED WAS ALREADY CASHED OR DEPOSITED BY THE SAID PERSON. AFTER, A WEEK OF NOT HEARING FROM THE OWNER WE DECIDED TO CALL. NO ANSWER, WE LEFT SEVERAL VOICE MESSAGES STILL NO RESPONDS. WE STARTED TO DOUBT UNTIL A WOMAN ANSWERED OUR CALLED AND INTRODUCED HERSELF AS THE WIFE OF MR HUMPHRIES, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE OWNER IS RESTING AND SLEEPING AT THE MOMENT WHICH WAS AROUND 1130AM, AND THAT HIS TRUCK IS BROKEN THAT WAS THE REASON HE CANNOT RETURN OUR CALLS.WE WERE EVEN TEXTED BY AMANDA PAYNE, STATING " MARIA WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW" ? AFTER, WE HAVE NOT HEAR FROM THEM WHEN THEY WILL INSTALL OUR GATE. AFTER, SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF COMUNICATING WE DEMANDED JUST RETURN THE DEPOSIT BACK IF HE CANNOT COMMUNICATE WITH US OR WE WILL INVOLVE THE LAW. THEN, RIGHT AWAY THE OWNER SENTUS A TEXT MESSAGE AND WE RESPONDED FOR HIM TO CALL US. THE OWNER STARTED TO INSTALLED OUR SINGLE AUTOMATIC GATE JULY 27 AND FINISHED 29TH AFTER BEING AGREED NOT TO DO IN ON THE 27TH BECAUSE I WILL BE AT WORK AND TO INSTALL THE GATE ON THE LEFT SIDE FACING THE PROPERTY WHERE WE GET MORE SUN FOR THE SOLAR PANEL BUT EVERYTHING WAS DONE IN CONTRAST TO WHAT WE REQUESTED. AUGUST 20 WE CONTACTED THE OWNER AGAIN BECAUSE OF SOME ISSUES WE ARE HAVING ON THE GATE , WE REQUESTED HIM TO STOP BY AT THE HOUSE WHICH HE PROBABLY LIVE 30 MINUTES FROM US BUT HAVENT HEARD ANYTHING HAVE NOT RETURNED OUR CALL. WE FULLY PAID THE OWNER ANOTHER $ 2,185 A TOTAL OF $ 4,385.00 AFTER HE INSTALLED OUR GATE. OUR LAST CALL TO MIKE HUMPHRIES WAS LAST SATURDAY OCT.02 TO KINDLY RETURN OUR CALL OR STOP BY AT THE HOUSE TO SHOW US OR HELP US WITH THE GATE THAT HE INSTALLED BUT NO RETURN CALLS , NO SHOWING! UNTIL, NOW THE GATE THAT HE INSTALLED DO NOT OPEN AND CLOSE ALL THE TIME AFTER WE ALREADY MOVED THE SOLAR PANEL SEVERAL TIMES AND PUT IN A POST AND CUT SEVERAL TREES TO GET MORE SUNLIGHT. WE WERE VERY DISSAPPOINTED WITH THE KIND, QUALITY OF WORK. THE QUALITY OF THE GATE, MATERIALS, WORKMANSHIP WERE ALL UNPROFESSIONAL. WE ARE WRITING THIS REVIEW SO SUPERIOR WELDING AND FABRICATION,LLC IN BLYTHEWOOD ,SC WILL NOT FOOL ANY MORE COSTUMERS . VERY UNCALL TO SUCH HAVING A BUSINESS THAT RENDER POOR QUALITY SERVICE.

A pleasure to work with, Mike Humphries designed, fabricated and installed a solar-powered gate system for our property. It looks great, it works well and we're happy he helped us out.

Mike was awesome and the fire pit was exactly what I wanted. I plan to use his services again in the future. You will not meet and nicer guy than Mike! Thanks so much.
