They installed the fence for my neighbor and I. We then had issues. There is a gap at my gate that needs adjusted, but the big issue is my neighbors back gate will not open. In case of an emergency, they will stuck in the backyard. We have tried to contact him to get these issues fixed but he will not return any calls. The mail box is full. I am very upset, that this guy would take advantage of retired disabled US Army veterans.

He was amazing! Came early and had everything finished and answered my questions. Definitely will use him again!

Craig's price was about half of what Lowe's quoted. The chainlink looks great. The only problem was caused by rain delays. This put the job about 30 days behind schedule.

Craig has charming in-person conversational skills setting his customers at ease, he is extremely competitive with his pricing, and his team under his supervision does outstanding work. What he dramatically lacks is an appreciation for his customers expectations (perceived or real) in understanding the progress required to complete an lawn install job. If the customer has an expectation of promptness, Craig's inability to convey the complexities of installing a yard and in particular his limited update communication (even if it is through text message) will cause much anxiety. If you are a patient person and trusting of people then --- Craig Schnieder and Surface Scape is a GREAT CHOICE !!!

I beleave he over changed, however that was my fault as I agreed to the price and should have said something. I think that the price should have been $300 or lower.

Craig and his crew was very professional and did a great job. His quote was reasonable and he met my time frame on completion. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves and very courteous at all times. I highly recommend Surface Scrapes and would use them again for any new projects.

They removed an old retaining wall of railroad ties and installed new rock retaining wall, installed irrigation system and cleaned up before they left. They did the work in a very timely manner and was prompt to return all calls. I would use them over and over again. Great people and business.

I have procrastinated in writing a review long enough. After pricing the cost of replacement materials, I have decided it was time. On August 16, 2016 we agreed to hire Surface Scapes to remove and replace 166 feet of fencing; remove a 125-foot wooden tie retaining wall and replace with concrete blocks; install two 12 x 12-foot concrete slabs; and install a Pergola structure on one of those slabs. The other slab was for a shed to be assembled and installed by another contractor. The original price was $14,127.50 and then we added the pergola ($5,572.50) for a total price of $19,700.00. Several times we were told he would provide any necessary top soil and sod which were included in the price of the job. We made the mistake of giving Craig a down payment of $15,000.00. He said he would start in about two weeks and the job should take no more than two weeks. He agreed it was his responsibility to obtain the necessary city permits. Due to rain delays and other jobs they finally started on September 7th. They removed the old retaining wall and some fencing. On September 8th they started installing the new retaining wall. At the end of the day Craig said they would not be back until the following week because they had a more important job to finish. On the following Monday they had to stop work early because they had run out of blocks for the retaining wall. On September 22nd the retaining wall was completed and they started drilling into the top of some of the blocks to set the fence poles into. They did not return to work on this project until the 28 because of other jobs and/or it was too wet. On the 29th a city inspector stopped and asked to see the required permit. Needless to say, Craig failed to obtain one and had to cease all work. The inspector also stated the location of the fence poles were not in compliance with city code and all had to be removed. During this time Craig informed us his pergola contractor was no longer taking jobs so he was not going to install it. A refund was due. Finally, on October 11th work started on the fence again. They worked that day and again on the 13th. Nothing was done until October 20th when some workers arrived to put some top soil and sod down and complete the final section of fence. They left without installing the post caps. I contacted Craig and asked about the missing post caps; told him there were numerous pickets were cracked and needed to be replaced; and they had installed an insufficient amount of sod. On October 26th a crew finally arrived to install the caps, replace a few pickets, and started to clean the pile of trash they had made. On December 1st some top soil and a pallet of sod was delivered but only about half of it was used in the yard. The other half was loaded back on the trailer and taken away. My wife was presented a bill for another $450.00 for the top soil and a pallet of sod. On December 2nd Craig called and said he was sending a refund check for the pergola deposit. After n

It has been a year since our fence was built. The fence has weathered sun, storms, hail and heavy winds with not a problem. When Craig and his team built the fence they were very courteous and made sure our area was cleaned up at the end of the day. The build was done in a timely manner and if there is a problem in the future they will be the first we call.
