Swimming Pool - Above Ground, Build or Install - Need Materials
$3,700
I would like to give a 1/2 STAR review... We were suckers. For a pool install, DO NOT DO IT. We feel that he does not have the knowledge to install an above ground pool because all he wants are funds that do not actually go to the project. We paid over and above to install a 1 cinder block high retaining wall and to install a pool. I only got a retaining wall that a student could have done. It turned into a hot mess in my yard and nothing else. No receipts for any supplies purchased and I got a somewhat half-written quote as a text message..., it stated that $1750 of our money went to his house payment and his truck repair. Plus the pool was not touched at all and he wanted more money after he was given $3700.00 which was given in good faith hoping that the work would be done right.. Plus as a professional installer, you give a quote on paper stating what was needed in details and the cost of supplies with the total cost of the project. All we got was more money was needed and nothing of what the remaining money was going to be used for. We supplied the pool and all the supplies for the pool. l We only wanted the pool installed, have a retaining wall around the pool, and to do some electrical work which I am glad we stopped everything prior to any of that being done or any more work is done. We have a 18 round circle, cemented cinder blocks w/ rebar inside them, and PEA GRAVEL AND RIVER ROCKS THROWN IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BASE. THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DONE IF YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL POOL INSTALLER. We are out a lot of money, but I know that a qualified installer would have to warrant their work and they would have come with credentials showing they are fully qualified, insured, and references. Pictures do not qualify for work being done unless there are names included for us to call and ask about the work. We are sorry to leave this review, but it may help others to do their research on anyone that comes into your domain and will be fully qualified in the work that will be performed. I was not thinking about that and we got burned. ( Big RED Flag) SO, FOR THOSE WHO NEED SOMEONE TO HELP WITH ANY HOME PROJECT, DO NOT USE ANYONE UNLESS THEY HAVE A CONTRACTORS LICENSE, HAVE INSURANCE AND WILL GLADLY GIVE YOU REFERENCES AND A QUOTE PRIOR TO STARTING. IF NOT... RUN... DO NOT WALK AWAY.

Chris Sutton took out the main load bearing wall in my home without providing proper support for the load causing damage to the structure of my home. The expense to repair his mistake has been astronomical. Chris also broke beyond repair a custom cut 10ft by 5ft granite slab that was to go in my new kitchen. It was a matching set to the 3 other countertops and to replace it, the entire set has to be replaced costing thousands of more dollars. Additionally, he was unprofessional showing up some days unannounced at early as 6am and other days not showing up at all with no notice. After 3 weeks of intermittent work, he convinced me to pay him in full before the job was finished. Two days later, he walked out in the middle of the job leaving live electric wires hanging out of my ceiling and some tied around my kitchen faucet. He left trash including his cigarette butts around my non-smoking home including on my kitchen counters. When Chris walked out, he would not return my calls or texts for nearly 4 days. Upon finally reaching him, he again was extremely rude and unprofessional. When I had originally hired Chris, he assured me that he was insured up to one million dollars. He said he was covered by a great liability policy but was sure his work was so good that he would never need it. When I finally spoke to him again, he told me that he actually didn't have ANY insurance and that he was broke so he couldn't even return any of the payment made for the unfinished work, much less replace the granite or pay for the structural damage to my home. There are so many more details that I will not write here, but suffice to say this experience has been a complete nightmare. The lesson here: Please do your due diligence before hiring anyone to work in your home. Get license and insurance information, make certain that permits are pulled if needed, do your research and finally trust your gut. I have lost many, many thousands of dollars because I hired Chris Sutton. Please do not make the same mistake.

"When I told her there was no way I could do the job. Without materials that she said she would get. Pay for that she did not. I was out of pocket 400 dollars. That she said I was responsible 4. When I climbed up in her addiction. After uncovering all the ceiling joists. I told her we needed a beam in the addict. To replace the wall. Or we could not take it out. she wouldn't pay for it. 800 dollars to completely redo her complete kitchen. Really I am not, in the wrong for walking away from this crazy. No telling what else she would have made me do. Installed a beam and cantilever it 12 feet on a wall left 8 feet of it cantilevered."
