TB Tiles

Our fireplace had some tile damage. TB Tiles came in, cleaned and prepped the fireplace, and worked with us to install the tiles and match the existing grout. The fireplace looks great.

All seemed good at first. The floor and tub surround went in smoothly. Mosaic on the floor and a difficult 6-sided picket on the walls. The caulk job done on the final day was terrible. No tape used to keep the caulk off the grout, leaving discoloration. Once everything dried, I went in for a closer look and found a chipped tile on the floor, and about 8 chipped tiles on the walls. Tod offered me a credit to accept it **as is**, but, I wanted it done right. Ned came back to fix, to my horror, not protecting the floor or tub at all as he busted out the chipped wall tiles. We battled over which ones needed to be replaced. I was told it is my responsibility to notice the bad tiles during the install. Ridiculous. More tiles were chipped in the floor since it was not protected. Ned also tried to replace wall tiles without re applying red guard beforehand that was removed during demo. He was clearly displeased when I made him redo some work a third time. He also put up more tiles that were chipped on the third go around. metal strip in the niche was scratched, as were several wall and floor tiles. I ended up halting work, deducting a days pay, and finishing the job myself. To Tods credit he tried to make it right. Unfortunately, his installer, though capable, worked too quickly and seemed unwilling to do so.

I inherited a poorly built DIY walk-in-shower when I purchased my new home. The floor was poured poorly causing tiles to pop out. In this time of staying at home, many quotes were either purposely expensive and spread out when they had time to spare, or not replied to since the area in question was small. Todd replied right away and quoted a very acceptable cost. The value far exceeds the cost. His team was efficient, courteous, quiet, and stuck to their estimate on cost and time. They are well worth the consideration.

We were looking for a contractor to overlay newceramic tile on top of existing (uneven slate) tile which came with the house. After 3 local contractors didn't work out (too expensive, didn't return calls, too busy, we reached out to TB Tiles, because of the number of 5 star ratings. We are in the southwest suburbs and they are located on the north side of Chicago. We didn't think they would take on the job due to the distance, but were so happy to hear that they would make the drive out to our house. They responded immediately and provided a quote in 24 hours over the phone based on photos we submitted. Any calls or texts I made were returned in 24 hours. We were pleased to see that the estimate provided over the phone was honored when they arrived to do the work. They were extremely professional, courteous, and very clean. They applied a screed over the existing uneven slate tile to form a flat surface, and expertly installed the new tile. After the tile was installed, I noticed 3-4 pieces in one small section that just weren't lining up right. Maybe other contractors would have considered it nitpicking, but I pointed it out and surprisingly, they agreed to chip out the tiles and reinstall them to my satisfaction at no extra charge. They kept the countertops, stove and floor protected and cleaned up EVERYTHING after the job, even sealing the tub of grout and caulk tube with tape. I highly recommend TB Tiles and in fact, have already started discussions with them about re-tiling the fireplace surround. Thank you Tod and Eli for taking such good care of us.

They cut tiles inside the bedroom, so just imagine that dust in house. I told them, but reply was *I will pickup my tools and walk away*. The shower faucet was not installed correctly and leaking. Left 2 messages, no-one return calls.

Tiling our very uneven basement floor was a tough job, requiring removal of wall-to-wall carpet/pad in addition to 2 layers of old vinyl tiles in the high areas underneath. Then TB Tiles had to fill low areas up to 2" deep, matching various heights of 3 doors on 3 different walls. Still they managed to make the whole floor look level! Tod and his father went above and beyond: open to us to picking out tile at any area store and then tiling around the steps downstairs so well that we don't have to replace that carpet. When there were enough tiles left over, they were willing at the last minute to extend the flooring into a closet for a small extra charge. Plus they used the expensive grout that never needs sealing. Cleanup was thorough. We feel the beautiful job TB Tiles did increased the value of our house by at least double what we spent.

Whole process was great. Work was done as needed, and Todd was helpful when I needed a few extras taken care of. Quick to jump when I found a few touch ups that needed rectifying. Would hire them again In a heartbeat!

Amazing work on my kitchen back splash! They completed the job in one day, even though the install area was quite large. Did a great job cleaning up of the area after completing the project. They are very responsive, punctual and professional. Bob has been in the business for 30 years and is a true professional in the field.

Excellent work and made my kitchen much nicer looking. They are professional, on time, and communicated with me throughout the selection of the tile and offered to pick them up!! They put tarp down and clean up after completion. after the kitchen, I immediately hired them to do the bathroom re-grouting, them again did an excellent job. I would hire them in the future and recommend them to anyone who need tiles installed or re grouting !!

Tod was very professional and did a great job installing the backsplash in our kitchen! We had purchased some natural stone Smart Tiles and realized we didn't have the tools needed to properly cut them to fit. Tod made himself available right away to come give us a quote, and the price was very reasonable. The work was done efficiently and looks awesome. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

Very nice guys came out to do the estimate on ripping out and replacing tile in shower and redid the shower basin. They were able to come out in a few days and did the work quickly and efficiently. I would recommend them for tile work and showers. Good prices vs other estimates and easy to work with.
