Retaining Wall - Install
Hired them to build a retaining wall which took forever. They came unprepared, had to use our tools (and if we didn?t catch them would have taken off with several of our tools! Which happened the last time they came to do work. I wonder if they planned on stealing and once caught, decided to never come back). Johnny also asked to borrow $100!!! Unprofessional!! Abandoned the project, left it a complete mess, and we will have to hire someone else to complete the job. Disaster!!!! Do not hire this fraudulent company!! I?m also contacting BBB. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ON HOMEADVISOR.

Concrete Patios, Walks & Steps Installation
We had an agreement with TCR Concrete and John Garza to complete a patio pour. The job was incomplete, took longer than planned by almost a month. We were left with a slab with multiple holes in the sides, rough edges and an uneven slope. In addition to the problems, we had to pay over $200 in extra fees for materials that were unplanned. On top of all this, the concrete provider, Vulcan Materials is now asking for us to pay over $500 in unpaid materials! TCR needs to make this right! We are contracting with another company to finish the slab, which is costing $350.

"I was surprised as to your comments. We did the job according to your preferences and wanting the job done at the most economical price. As for the holes in the concrete when we first started the job you where told you the concrete was needing to be plastered and you did not want it done do the pricing, you did not want the extra cost. As for Vulcan Materials we did not contract them for the concrete. We have contacted them and they should be sending you a correction letter. We contracted Kings Readymix and it was paid in full."

I hired John Garza in May 2020 for what should have been a 2-3 week project. It is now September, he has been paid in full and I still do not have any retaining walls built. He had fair reviews and seemed very genuine when I hired him. I paid him a total of $19,350. Every time I threatened there was another excuse and promise. It has been over a month since he has worked.

Everything was great until they poured the concrete. Everything fell apart after that and they will not return my calls.

"Sorry you feel everything fell apart after the pour. I am very surprised as to your comment of being dissatisfied. Due to the fact you ask for a quote for more work to be performed at your home, as this request was several days after the pour and completion of your driveway and I did not get any concerns or complaints on our last conversation Aug 31st and took it as you were satisfied with the work performed. As for the driveway, it came out perfect and even past inspection with the City of San Antonio. Please feel free to contact me with any concerns you may still have as we do everything we can to leave every customer satisfied if possible."

Johnny and his crew did a great job. Despite a few rain delays and having to dismantle part of my fence to gain access to my yard with their equipment, they came back to repair it the following day after completing the project. We love our new patio and fire pit.

I needed a pro who could pull a permit from the county and then install driveways. After many setbacks, the TCR crew completed part of the job then disappears. Communication has been terrible. The work completed was very competent but the permit work is what I needed and paid for. Now my project is incomplete and I must pursue recouping my money as I have already paid half. Oh yes, and the number for Johnny is disconnected as of the typing of this. Looking for resolution after four months of trying to work with them, patience has run out.

John was quick to visit the site so he could provide an informed quote. I hired him - he had a proposal in my hands within hours. Was on the job the next day to install forms, finished with the concrete 2 business days later. Excellent communication and work ethic. Professionals who are cordial. Highly recommend this crew.

Stamped Concrete - Install
John started off with great customer service! Unfortunately when the concrete was poured the sidewalk and driveway ends were damaged by the actual weight of the concrete trucks. These were areas being replaced any way but for some reason they left them damaged. John who is very nice kept promising they would return to repair but it s now been almost 3 months and he s moved on. I spent $8k and am really disappointed that he did not correct the problem!

John was really upfront about the whole process. He kept in touch the whole time and explained everything that he was going to do. He was able to complete this project rather quickly and I appreciated his effort. I would definitely hire him again for future projects.
