Bathroom - Remodel
Yes, I recommend this pro

Scheduling is a bit of a pain, but the workers were really nice, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. Terry, the owner isn't very good at keeping his word, but the workers done whatever we asked them to do. If you aren't on a time crunch I would recommend them, just make sure you remember exactly what tile, flooring, vanity etc you order to be installed.

Installation of my countertops went very well, however, it was all downhill from there. I wish I was able to post pictures, you would get a better idea of what I'm saying. Crooked backsplash , grout not washed, clumped under cabinets. New tile on floor not grouted well, not even, cut around door jams, etc. floor grout all over door jams. Parting comment from "lead" was, "I hope you enjoy this more than I did doing it." Called and complained, asked they not send him back but, of course, they did. I told him he needed to cut away under door jam and then place the tiles under! Gave him my list, which he did most of. They had cut the tiles on my porch which made a mess. He attempted to clean it but it still looks awful, not to mention the clumps of grout left behind. They also proceeded to empty my new gardening bucket, use it as well as my new hose and nosal, all of which are now covered in dried on grout!! I'm still finding gaps in the grout, tiles are uneven, and I'll have to repaint my porch. They were rushed thru my project with constant phone calls about when it would be done. No concern about the quality of work I was getting. I hired them so it wouldn't look like I did it, but it still looks like I did it. I still don't have my dishwasher connected, will have to pay someone to come do that! Overall, very disappointed!

We signed a contract with TEKA on Feb 26 and the work was not completed until July 14. Over the course of this almost 5 months, we were lied to numerous times by several different people, including Karen, one of the two owners. The work finally began on June 13, and over the course of the next month, they sent 4 different work crews. Things went okay until the vinyl crew got here who made a terrible mess of everything they did. They even vinyled over one of our HVAC ducts, register and all. We complained and they sent another crew who were able to correct most of the mess, but not all, and they finally finished the job to less than acceptable standards, but by then, we just wanted rid of them. To top things off, they drove off the last day and left all of their trash piled up in our garage. Took me two trips to the dump to dispose of it all. We had also planned a complete kitchen renovation, but we will certainly not even consider TEKA. I will not recommend these people to anyone for anything.

This company is difficult to deal with when it comes to making corrections or fixing something. Caulking around back splash cracked within a month. Took over 3 weeks to get it fixed. Now the disposal they installed is leaking. They destroyed my box and receipt and after 2 weeks of phone calls and messages, still have no response.

This business is poor at communicating and at keeping to a schedule. I was told a bathroom remodel would take 5-7 days. It was written on the top of my contract. The process took a total of 13 days. I asked the owner why I was told it would take 5-7 days, he said that was because the salesman works on commission and wanted to make a sale. However, his wife told me the same estimated time. He also said that the drywall alone would take five days. They said they would start work on Wednesday and then did not show up. When I called, they said that they didn't want to start work because it was raining and they would start on Monday instead. They didn't want to track mud into the house. I explained that it was urgent that we start the project because I was making the bathroom handicap accessible for my father. I was also told by the salesman that they would put a tarp down over the carpet so they wouldn't make a mess. The owner then said that they couldn't start because they sent their crew out to another job. So they could work in the rain on a different job, just now at my house. I was not surprised by the delay because I had called the business several times to ask questions and get samples, but they never called me back or followed through. While looking over reviews of this business on other sites, I found multiple similar complaints. The workers had to fix several things after completing the job: the vanity was installed crooked, the slide bar and shower head were loose, leaky plumbing, poor paint job in one area. They did not mind redoing these things, but I did. I wanted them done correctly the first time so I could have the bathroom complete and workers out of my parents house. I purchased a framed mirror and ended up returning it. The frame was cut crooked. The owner said that he noticed the crooked frame when he saw it in the shop. However, he let his employees hang it anyway. I paid $250 for the mirror. I was told to call the business when I was ready for them to pick up the supplies needed for the job and they would deliver them to my home. I called three times to tell them to pick up the same supplies from Home Depot. Each time I was told they would do it the next day, but they never did. Finally I received a letter from Home Depot telling me they would have to return the special order items and charge a restocking fee. When I spoke with the owner of TEKA about this, she said that they normally don't pick up/deliver supplies until they start a job. Again, why wasn't I told this over the course of the two weeks that I kept calling them. Poor communication and with customers. This is a family run business and one person just covers for the other one and has an excuse for everything. I would not reccommend using this business.

I waited over 8weeks for work to be done, I paid over 3000.00 dollars, plus 2000 in materal for inexperienced labor that lasted 3 days, I had multiple leaks and damages done to closet toilet flange, that leaked through the floor into crawlspace. electrical outlets literally falling out of wall. paint and spackling was very poorly done , still waiting for repairs after 6 days.
