I hired Terrance to do a major renovation on my 2nd floor “ involving adding a master bedroom, closet, and master bath. While the work done on the bedroom & closet was acceptable, the master bathroom, specifically the tile floor was a disaster. Terrance talked me into adding a heated floor, which I thought was a great idea. He said he had installed systems in the past. I purchased the heating system. Terrance installed and tiled over with sheets of small mosaic tiles we picked. Upon completion, I noticed the floor was not smooth and level, as any new tile floor should be. Terrance blamed it on the subfloor. I continued to express my dissatisfaction after walking barefoot on it. It was so uneven, it was uncomfortable to walk on, with the little hexagonal tiles being higher or lower then the one next to it. Terrance said he wanted me "happy" so he offered to buy new tile and tile over the existing floor and heating system. He had already done this "cover up his mistake" in the enclosed shower where the water did not drain because he had not sloped the tiles towards the drain. I reluctantly agreed. We never got as far as another "cover up" because I investigated heat installation. The heat system's website specifically states: "The minimum required tile format for use is 2" x 2" (50 mm x 50 mm)". My tiles were 7/8". A simple contact would have provided instructions to install properly. In addition, The heat system's website voids the warranty due to Terrance's improper install. After buying the tile to "cover up" and refunding the price of installation, Terrance quit the job saying he ''could never make me happy". He refunded me $1040 and literally quit the job. Instead of covering up", I made a decision to hire a real pro tile contractor to tear up the floor, and properly install the (newly bought) heat system and tile floor. In the demolition, it was pointed out to me that Terrance had installed the cable under the vanity and under the toilet itself both specifically places an experienced installer should have known to avoid. All in all, I spent another $4165 to correct his mistake. My attempts to secure a settlement have been met with derision. My project was almost $90,000, and most of what I paid to Terrance was cash as per his request. I think that fact tells you something about the type of contractor Terrance is. In the end, I have no recourse, other then litigation, to either secure payment for his mistake or to have someone (subcontractors) come back for the tweaks that a job of this size usually needs. Terrance knows a little about a lot of things, but he is NOT, as he claims, anywhere near a pro in tile installation.

They did an outstanding job totally remodeling my master bathroom. I wish I could post a picture. It looks outstanding and we are very pleased with the finished product. Terrence is great to work with and I think they charge a fair price for the work they did. I am planning to use them again on additional remodeling work in the near future.

Project: Build or Replace a Deck or Non-Masonry Porch
We recommend this company. They replaced our current deck with Wolf composite, which turned out great! Matt and John were great workers and cleaned up the work area before they left each day. We would hire them again.

OUTSTANDING! Terrance and Chris were such a pleasure to have at our home! Trustworthy, honest and hardworking, they did a fabulous job! We had a new sliding glass door installed which they were more then happy to pick up at Home depot for us. Installed ceramic tile in kitchen, powder room, foyer. Installed bamboo flooring in living room and dining area. All new woodwork. They did many other things we asked for at the last minute. Always willing to go the extra mile to please us. Will call him and his team again if we need any more work done! Please offer these guys a cup of coffee next time, they deserve it!

I would highly recommend T & J Construction. They just finished remodeling our basement and did an amazing job. I felt the price was very fair. Terrence was more than willing to work with us on some changes. He was excellent at communicating throughout the entire project. Every person he brought into our house I felt very comfortable with. And the quality of the work is great. It's rare to have a project go so smoothly. We had not a single issue with T & J Construction. Not even a minor complaint. I will definitely be using them for future projects and would highly recommend them.
