We hired TJM in March to finish our basement. Then, the pandemic hit. Once the team was able to start working, they did just that. However, I feel like they tried to rush our job because they had also started other jobs in the meantime (good for their business). We hired our own electrician, plumber, and HVAC. Tim was great about working with them. TJM was responsible for all the construction, permits, and finishing. Overall, the construction ended up good and was what we wanted along with a decent price and very friendly workers. However, TJM contracted the drywall, mud, and paint jobs out. All of these workers were nice, but the work was ok. The lack of communication around scheduling was frustrating, the painter did an awful job, and one of the workers even ran into our mailbox (we chalked it up as a bad day for him and let it go). My husband and I ended up cleaning up a lot of messes throughout the process. After the job was close to being finished, I called Tim about the paint (door frames were not painted and still had pencil marks on them, the stairs and bathroom baseboards were not caulked, there were clearly spots on the walls that were not painted, the paint lines along the ceiling were not straight. Tim came over and attempted to touch up the paint, but it still looks terrible. I also called him and asked if he was going to pick up the leftover material that was in our backyard. He said he would, but never came. While we wanted TJM to make things right and do the work we paid them to do, we got frustrated at the **fix** we saw the first time. We were so tired of having people in our house and the obvious lack of responsibility taken for not so great finishing work, that we just decided that we would eventually finish the work ourselves. For months later, the shower was finally used, and realized how terrible the grout looks. In addition, the custom shower pan does not drain like it is supposed to. Also, there is a clear crack in the drywall at least 3 feet long. Do not get me wrong, we love spending time in our basement, but since we have not had time to fix the things that did not get finished the way we would have hoped, we are constantly reminded of the job the was not done the way it should have been. Tim and Tony are great, but unfortunately, their standards of **finishing work** do not seem very high. I know that they are a younger and relatively small business, so, I am trying to be understanding. While I believe they are talented in their work, there is definitely room for improvement. I have mixed emotions as to whether or not I would refer them to others. I hope they continue to get business and improve the quality of their work. I just wish that I could say I was completely satisfied.
