T.M.G.I. Granite-Tile and Marble, LLC

Joel Hicks took money from us to complete other projects and is now stuck. Joel has been paid all but $1,666 on a $21,500 contract and not one bathroom is finished. The last time he duped us he asked for $2,500 for jamb material and grout (which is, in addition to contract) and has not delivered any material, won't return phone calls or e-mails for over a month. What he has left undone: Master bath: needs to finish installing tile, grouting tile, replacing the jamb section he installed backwards, finishing trim tile and sealing. Bath #1 grouting and sealing the floor, the shower is waterproofed, but no tile installed. Bath #2. Floor in, shower waterproofed but no tile installed. Bath #3, shower waterproof, no tile installed anywhere. Bath #4, durarock on the main floor, but nothing else done. Joel does good work, is a nice guy and we wished he managed his business in such a way that he could fulfill his commitments. If you are sooooo tempted to hire him, even after reading this review, at least protect yourself by paying him weekly for work he actually did, and make him produce receipts for materials before you pay him. If he tries to tell you we were the problem, please know the material has been sitting on site for him for MONTHS and he spent money we gave him for our job to finish a job in Franconia. Again, nice guy, but we question the morals of anyone who thinks its appropriate to leave a job they've been almost fully paid for with less than 1/2 the work done.

I had old tile that needed to be removed and replaced in my kitchen, hall-way and bathroom (300 sq ft). I placed a request for a tile installation on Home Advisor and Joel responded within an hour. He set up an appointment the next day to look at the job. His price was great, his availability fit our schedule, he started as we planned and he and his crew did a 5 Star, Great Job. You won't find a better team to do your tile work. Thanks Joel.

Very happy with the work Joel did. He installed tile flooring in 2 bathrooms. Finished on time and the floors are a huge improvement over what we had. Price was competitive. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Joel was great to work with. Very reasonable and knowledgeable. He went over and above with my kitchen tile work, helping to lift a stove hood that had been hung too low. Would recommend him.

Joel was easy to work with and he listened to our ideas and did a good job.

Joel came a took a look at my project and gave an estimate. We scheduled the work, he showed up on time and completed the work in 2 days. We had an 8x8 bathroom floor done with tile and new durarock. Joel charged a very reasonable rate and we love the new floor.

Joel was very knowledgeable and works hard to make sure that your tile installation is the way you want it.

Joes installed a glass tile backsplash in my kitched. He provided a quick initial response, showed up when he said he would, work was completed according to what he told me, quality was good. I would use Joel again for future tile projects.

Job was to tile a small bathroom floor including removing the toilet and re-seating it after. Joel and his associate completed the job on time, within budget, with quality work and extraordinary care for cleanliness and neatness. A few friends have already commented on how good the floor looks. Next time I need any tiling done, I'm calling TMGI first.

Professional, courteous and helpfull. Cleaned up after performing work and explained everything clearly. Quality of work was good. Reinstalled all appliances/fixtures as needed.

We had a great experience with Joel and his team. He did a large 600-800 square foot area in our kitchen/hall/pantry and mudroom as well as an additional bathroom floor, back splash and interior stone wall. We are thrilled with the results and would definitely recommend T.M.G.I.. We have received several complements on all the projects. We started with our kitchen and added the additional projects each time one was completed. The team was respectful of our family, accommodating to our schedule and always left our home clean.

Joel did NOT do a professional job on our floor. His price was higher than most; but we hired him for his 33 yrs experience. He fired his helper BEFORE he started & got a 'buddy' to cut tiles; then filred the 'buddy' 2 days later! He LEFT a huge mess inside & out, left white hand prints on EVERYTHING & did the worst grout job I've ever seen! He told us he would clean everything thoroughly, including the white, water-streaked mess he made on our cherry cabinets when the job was done; but DID NOT! There's grout missing in places & some obvious HIGH & LOW areas. The grout is a sloppy mess in EVERY corner, under the heat registers & most walls.

Joel did a fantastic job. I had a new home under construction and Joel did all 3 full baths with tile. The bathrooms look great...very professional. He gave us a very fair price. We are very happy with the finished prouct. Thanks Joel.
