Reviews
Write a ReviewEasy to work with and showed up wanting to work. They were fast and did what they were contracted to do.
Andra and team were prompt and respectful.
Andra and his team were great. He showed up right away to give me an estimate and worked with me on scheduling so that it suited my project. His team did the requested work and cleaned up upon leaving. I will use them again.
On 9/22 I signed a contract with TSIAC to removed my popcorn ceiling that contained asbestos for Oct 9, the day after I was to close on my new home. I sent an email on Oct 1 asking TSIAC, Andre, to verify and confirming that we were good to go for October 9 and he replied yes. I received a call the day before he was supposed to do the work, an hour before my closing, to say there was a problem and he thought he submitted a request for a permit but he did not and we did not have one. He was upset that I was upset that the abatement was not to go forward and it would be a 10 day waiting period for DHEC to approve a permit once he sent it. Everything revolved around this abatement being done the day after closing, most importantly me having to be out of my current place. I spent the hours after my closing trying to get together things he now said I needed for a permit. I felt like I was getting the run around. Other companies I called to try and get answers told me this situation did not seem right. He gave me the contact for an air monitor that I now needed and they told me they would be available as soon as I needed them and told me I could apply and talk to DHEC for a faster permit. They advised me to write a letter so they would give me a waiver of the 10 days. At one point Andre said he did not want to do the job anymore bc he didn't think it would work out well for him and it seemed to stressful and I was upset. I all but begged him to make it right and take responsibility. I got everything together thanks to Volkmar Consulting air monitors advise and sent it to Andre at TSIAC and he did not respond again until the next morning at 630. He then emailed that he was unable to do the job within the next 2 weeks. His contract with me stated he would do the abatement on Oct 9 and no later than the 12th. We already missed the 9th due to his error but on that day I called DHEC and they were so incredibly helpful and said they would approve a permit in minutes if he would just submit the request for it. They finally had to call him and then he called me, argued with me and refused saying he had no availability. I had to share his information with DHEC to get an urgent waiver and help on the situation and he was angry that I brought up his name and company and said there was no reason for it. I kept emailing him asking him to do the right thing and he still refused. I told him I felt forced to write this bad review and he called me up angry and arguing. I feel bad but this was a horrible situation. It has cost me $3000 to find another abatement contractor to replace him on such insane short notice. I spent 2 days trying to fix this on what was supposed to be DHEC was able to waive the 10 day waiting period and approve the new contractor's request in minutes due to my circumstances. I provided all that to Andre and gave him the chance to do the right thing. I had everyone lined up, the air tester, DHEC and he still said he would not be able to do the job for at least 2 weeks. When I was insisting he fix it he asked me if I thought I was more important than his other clients. He made comments along the way that me being upset was unreasonable and something that he didn't want to be involved in. I don't get it. He has called me angry bc I submitted his company info and our contract to DHEC when I was discussing my situation and in needing their help and a waiver of their 10 days. I also feel like if he could have found a way to do the job within a few days and within our contract I would never have written this review. For anyone struggling with asbestos, any company or person or any questions etc... Call DHEC immediately. I can not believe how amazing they are and how willing they are to help me. They went above and beyond. Please be careful when hiring this company
Employees were courteous and professional. The owner offered further service without pressure. He also called late in the afternoon to follow up on his work.
Great alternative to metal dumpsters that damage driveways and lawns. TIAC delivers a haul away trailer that you fill. Good for small jobs.
If you hire this company (Andre specifically) beware. I initially spoke with Andre about a project and we agreed on a price and a start date. Finally after 6 weeks of "delays" the job was finally completed. Unfortunately, there were some surprises in store for me. 1). The price quoted did not include ANY warranty. BUT if I would purchase some ADDITIONAL materials Andre would cover the job for 1 year. 2). I discovered after the job that the workers were not from TSIAC. Andre could not be bothered with a "Small Job" so he subcontracted the work. That would be ok except he hired unliscensed contractors to do the work. Please be very careful if you chose this company.
Great job. Fair price.
Friendly, on time and efficient. So glad to find him. Will use him again and be glad to recommend to others.
