Taragano Design and Build

Yaniv gave us outstanding support during our decision-making about a 2-bedroom addition to our home. His two site visits were extremely informative and trust-inspiring. We ultimately decided not to build for family reasons, but if we had, there is no question we would have gone with Taragano Design and Build.

We hired Yaniv and his team in 2021 to complete a full remodel of our kitchen, laundry and bathroom areas, our outdoor casita, and to add insulation throughout our home. During COVID, we spent several months traveling and keeping the house vacant, and throughout that time, Yaniv and his team worked efficiently and stayed on track with everything we asked for. As with any major remodel, a few issues came up along the way, but Yaniv was responsive and proactive in addressing them. He made sure everything was resolved and that we felt supported throughout the process. Remodeling is never easy, especially being out of your home for an extended period, but in the end, it was absolutely worth it. The finished result is beautiful and truly reflects our vision. Yaniv and his team helped bring it to life, and we’re very happy with the outcome.

We completed a major remodel with Yaniv of our kitchen, family room, living room, guest bathroom and backyard living space. Yaniv was absolutely great to work with. He takes great pride in his work, sincerely and genuinely cares and has a keen sense of design. He is also a great communicator, listening well and informative. Yaniv pays great attention to detail, which makes a difference behind the scenes, structurally, and with what you can see. Yaniv possesses a unique blend of deep knowledge of the technical side of construction, a keen eye for design and an enormous drive to do everything well. We are thoroughly enjoying our remodeled space.

We had the pleasure of working with Yaniv on our house remodel. Our project was a large-scale remodel of a 4000+ sf house, that transformed an uninspired, outdated, and dark interior to a modern, light-filled interior. As an architect-owner with much design time and emotion, as well as money invested in the project, I probably rank pretty high on the fastidious scale of clients. Yaniv was conscientious about following up with any concerns I had on work in progress. We worked through the challenging pieces of my project with tight dimensional tolerances and unusual details including large scale pivot doors, blind doors, skylight wells with complex geometries, flush invisible baseboards, stepped reveal between wall and stairs, and others. This care was taken while sticking to the construction schedule, and allowing us to move in on-schedule (which also allowed us to move out of our previous house and to sell it). I want to give a shout out to Yaniv Taragano. We have lived in the Oakland Hills for 42 years in a house that we have loved all that time. Unfortunately, there was a leak in the ceiling of a room addition that was added on before we bought the house. It was only noticeable during very heavy rainstorms so it was easy to put off getting it fixed. I am embarrassed to say that this lasted for several years. Two years ago, we decided to do something about it and had several contractors come out to look at it. They basically either took a quick look and said that we just needed to have better flashing installed (which didn’t sound right to me) or they advised that I get a roofing person. Then Yaniv came. He did a very thorough analysis of the situation and not only advised a plan to fix the basic problem but also made recommendations (for a very modest additional cost), to take advantage of the construction to put in a beautiful picture window and enlarge our deck. He took care of all the engineering that was required, got the permits, came regularly during the construction to check in on things and stayed in touch regularly. We were thrilled with the result. The original leak is solved, and we have a spectacular view window and deck. We couldn’t have been happier with Yaniv’s holistic approach to our need and the follow through, taking the project from design to finished construction. I am very pleased to recommend him highly to anyone who has building project.

Working with yaniv has been fantastic front to back. He is on top of every detail and has exceed our expectations in regards to quality and timeline. He has guided us in the right direction with every step. Whether it was small things like how to set up electrical or broader topics like the design of our bathroom he has been so knowledgeable and clearly customized his approach to what he knows we want and need. We absolutely work with him again.
