Asphalt Shingle Roofing Installation and Replacement
I used TaylorMade Solutions to replace my roof based on the recommendation of my solar installer, Palmetto Solar. The quote that I got from TaylorMade Solutions was several thousand dollars more than other roof replacement quotes that I'd gotten a few months earlier, but I went with them based on the recommendation and the lie that I'd be able to get 30% of the roof cost back as a tax credit since it was part of a solar installation project. In reality, roof replacement costs are not eligible for the solar installation federal tax credit - do not believe this lie. On the day of installation (September 16, 2022), not a single member of the crew spoke fluent English, and I needed to use Google translate to communicate with them. The crew broke the railing on my front porch, which I reported to TaylorMade Solutions in a voicemail that evening. After receiving a call back from Dan Taylor and being assured that he'd be out to inspect the railing the next week, I did not hear back from them until April of 2023, when they finally realized that I hadn't paid for the roof yet. Dan came out to inspect the railing and ultimately ended up buying a new railing set. The new set didn't have enough brackets for my setup, so he promised to order those and mail them to me. I still have not received them, 13 months after they broke my railing and 6 months after Dan promised to get them to me, so I have not been able to have my railing repaired. I have sent dozens of messages to ask for them over the last several months, and now no one even bothers to reply. I deeply regret paying him for the roof before the railing was actually repaired, but I naively trusted him at the time. Additionally, some months after the installation, I noticed that the top row of shingles had not adhered and were free to lift up. That caused me to discover that TaylorMade Solutions had reused old flashing that was not lying flat on the roof. For the cost of this roof, I expected that they'd do the job right. I have been incredibly disappointed with this experience and would not recommend them.

1.0 is actually too high - 0 (or negative numbers) would be better. Contractor charged my credit card for first payment, haven't heard from them since (11 days now), despite leaving several messages. Very disappointed in them, and HomeAdvisor for making the recommendation.

"We are new to Angi and we have not dealt with HomeAdvisor in nearly 4 years so I am just now seeing this. In regards to taking a deposit and disappearing, that is a bald-faced LIE. We have never done that to anyone and now, as a standard business practice, we DO NOT even take deposits. We are paid upon completion. Again, my apologies for the late response, but there is absolutely no truth to this whatsoever."
