It has been a while, but I wrote a review in 2019 but never knew how to revise it. (My address mistakenly said Mohegan Lake). I wrote that review in the honeymoon phase of meeting Teddy Lee, and in light of his (in hindsight) manic enthusiasm for my job. When all was said and done, I was out over $23,000 for sub-standard work. He built my deck too high and not to code and I now have to step down into my kitchen. The sidewalk he had poured has badly cracked. He removed steps from my side entry with intent to rebuild them and never did, leaving me without a way out from that entry for two years promising to finish and never did. I had to hire another contractor, so I paid double for this work. He tries to charm you into paying before agreed upon work is complete so he can support his next job, even though you have a contract regarding payments and work to be done prior to payments. He used some cheap materials where he could cut corners. He is a con man.

Beware of this man, he is a con artist and thief. After nothing but great experiences with other workers and companies we have hired to do work over the years, our experience with Teddys Home Services was dispiriting and infuriating beyond belief. Multiple reviews on other sites describe our experience with Teddy exactly. We hired him to tear down a rickety old shed on our property, which he did, and build a new one, which he never did. He started off all friendly and cooperative, demanded a big upfront down payment (which unfortunately we paid, since we had no reason not to trust him), did some initial work and then started making himself scarce. He offered excuses for why he could not come: sick, injury, other jobs taking longer than expected. Winter came and went, with the ugly demolition site dominating our backyard, and with spring he could not deal with the mud. He insulted our property, proposed expensive and unnecessary work-arounds, began insulting me personally when we did not agree and angrily texted Lawyer up, buddy when I complained that he was not doing the job. Eventually he stopped showing up altogether or responding to messages. The work he actually did (tearing down the shed, several inept efforts to alleviate the muddy conditions by laying down gravel) covered less than a third of the money we paid him. We reluctantly concluded that going after him legally would not be worth the effort, stress, lawyers fees and court fees, which Teddy probably figured. Based on other reviews, that seems to be how he operates. If this review saves one person from hiring Teddy, I will have done my civic duty.

Teddy and his team did an amazing job completing my shed to a fully functional gym including installing insulation, dry wall, cladding, upgrading the electrics and installing the AC. Worked mostly remotely with phone, photos etc and was so happy when saw finished product in person. Very high quality work and very personable/responsive. Would use Teddy on any other project I had

I trusted this man. I gave $3500 deposit for painting the house and $1000 deposit for sliding glass door. He did great work and returned my check for work he could not finish due to covid. This time is different, No one came to paint and the work on the door was started without my permission. The door was not done correctly and I had to hire another company to fix the door. No communication and no painting started.

Teddy contacted me within just a few minutes of my having submitted the request for estimates via HomeAdvisor. He sounded very cheery over the phone, so I had a good vibe from the start. He arrived at our home when he said he would and provided me with an estimate on the spot (it was for a tiny half bath), which made my day because it was as though I had the price I wanted written on my forehead, and he had just read it from there. He was super friendly and honest, admitting that the job was pretty small and was really just a handyman project. I had interviewed two other contractors previously, and their pricing was WAY off, like, I was asking them to gold plate my bathroom fixtures or something, just unbelievable. He wrote out the quote for me and had me sign the agreement. He said he might be able to start the work in a couple of days but just had to check in with his brother-in-law, who would be doing the work (a former Union carpenter). He left and within minutes, he called me to confirm the work would begin on Sunday (yes, SUNDAY) which was only a couple of days away. I was ELATED because the bathroom renovation was to take place in preparation for putting our house on the market. He estimated the work would take 2-3 days. Perry, Teddys Brother-in-Law, showed up promptly at 8:30 on Sunday morning. The van he arrived in was packed to the gills, Tetras style, with every piece of equipment you could possibly imagine, like Felix bag of tricks. We had an introductory discussion confirming what he would be doing. Teddy had obviously explained everything to him clearly. He prepped the work surfaces with cardboard and neatly laid out all of his equipment and quietly got to work. Perry is a man of few words, but is highly focused on his work and does not stop until he is done. He would occasionally stop to ask important questions regarding our preferences, or to confirm where something was going. 3 days later, our formerly gross, teeny-tiny half-bath, had been transformed into a lovely and cozy oasis under the stairs. I cannot thank Teddy and Perry enough for their hard work, ethical pricing, and honesty. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for making our lives easier. We will be coming back to Teddy time and time again for any future home repairs and/or renovations!

I had a long-standing difficult problem to solve and I hired Teddy's Home Services to demolish and rebuild a deck, renovate an entryway to my basement, and to pour concrete pathways. I cannot say enough about Teddy and his crew of professionals. Their quality in workmanship is superb, the work plan well thought out, the care and expertise top notch. Their can-do attitude and problem-solving skills are a big deal. If you want it done right, Better call Teddy. :) I'm in the real estate business and have already referred him to several clients.

Teddy was great so reliable He was here within 24 hours of our calling him He and his assistant removed our old air conditioner, went to the store bought a new one came back and installed it in the wall This was all done in a couple of hours They cleaned the area and took the old one away. So happy Thank You So Much ð looking forward to have him back

I had them install a sump pump system underneath my basement floor I was dealing with almost a foot of water and now it is all dry there crew was extremely professional and polite they worked quickly and cleaned up when they left and the best part was the more then fair price I would recommend them for more for whatever issues you would have

Fantastic service. I needed my deck completely replaced. I shopped around for for the best price and Teddy you saved the day. Very respectable workers too they helped me move some stuff. No clean up for me which was highlight.

He was great, and he would answer all my questions. Most importantly I was able to trust him. There were no surprises and he was very forthright.
